used to do gfx design in 2010, had alot of logo clients and clients in general then market got super saturated, i used to sell a logo for $300 then went down to $200 then went down to $100. Once I got to 100 i started outsourcing to fiver rather than doing my own work.
Graphics design just got really saturated you actually needed some semblance of skill before, now there are 100+ softwares with hundreds of templates to pump these logos out.
Its harder to find clients for gfx design these days, most people know about fiverr,99 designs etc.
I had my gf recently ask me she was going back to school and said was thinking either gfx design or architecture. I told her i know 3 architects their all doing well, I know a tonnn of gfx designs and unless your really good, you wont starve but your not making much.
Your fiverr idea is just outsourcing, how long does it take you to find a client? assuming fiverr is $15 since its usually extra to get the work file. You spend $50 for an email list of 200 leads, send emails out, communicate with them, get 3 leads, talk 1 into a sale, communicate back and forth. sell your logo for $150.
so you just spent $65 and maybe 10 hours of time. So you could maybe make $8 an hour doing this? This is if you do everything right, your leads pan out, and your clients are willing to pay $150 for a logo.
