Putting more than one site on first page google.

So I have multiple sites ranking for one term. ATM I have #1 a niche blog and #4 an article on a niche related authority site. Both these pages link out to site #3 which is the business itself.

I have put better quality and volume of seo effort into the business which sites typically at #15 or 16. It is definitely not triggering a penguin penalty but I am wondering if google has something in their algorithm to block what I'm doing that is keeping that page from moving past #15.

Thoughts from anyone that has done this before. This is my first time trying to put more than 2 rankings on page 1.

I think you might be better off unlinking the two from page one and seeing what happens. I personally never like linking all of my sites together just in case one gets done they take the whole lot out.

When we target a niche and want to rank more than one site on the first page we work off running them as two different projects. We also use different types of links and content on each.

I find it to be an enigma actually, to put multiple websites that you own-self own into the first page of the big G. I find that sites that have all similar link profile, meaning if you build links using the same link list - only one of these sites will get in the top 10 list, while the others will not see daylight. However, if the site that was ranking on page 1 disappears, it looks like the other sites that didn't rank earlier, would somehow go up in ranks and replace the missing site at the top.

i have seen very few people who can do that.. Mostly because they try to rank for difficult keywords and it is very difficult to rank one site let alone 2 and 3 websites.

About his case... Which FP? I think some of us are freaking out without a cause. I have a couple of sites doing the worst about BH and still having first pages. Very awkward...

Not really a penalty risk here I ranked all these sites with only genuine guest posts on traffic site. Also the links are relavent because site 1 is a blog about the product with about 40-50 articles on it site 2 is an article about the product. Both these advertise site 3 which is where the links come from. Site 3 being the eCommerce store where I sell boatloads of the stuff. I might try removing the links from sites 1 and 2 and see if site 3 moves up to the first page.

It's tough for your eCommerce site to move into the first page, thanks to recent Google algo updates. You sure can try removing the links from site #1 but it won't do you any good. In case of site #2 with one article, I will do the exact opposite of site 1 and take the link down. Instead, I will link site #2 to site #1 because it looks more natural that way.

I got 2 pages ranking for some sporting niche.
they kind ofboth fight for #1
though, they DONT interlink, both are backlinked differently (site 2 is made with good old tiered linkpyramids".
so, It kind of works

however, as I dont do any dick size comparisons here, that's a low comp niche, though 2k exact match for a money term. so It is kind of nice 2 have 2 sites in there.
if i is summer, or autum, they really bank $$
in winter, they dont do shit.

there is some fitness niche I "try to compete in"

however, the top 1 owns 3 ranking several blogs. just from the outside they all look different.
linkanlysis indicate they are allsomehow related together.

so, in the end, you just have to "hide" that somehow an make them look "different" as much as you can

Yes they do have something against this, if they find out it's the same person, they'll remove one or both.

They want more individual advertisers per serp, to sell more ads.

Only exceptions are people who already spend lots on ads (buy their way into the serps) like tripadvisor and such, they get to have 10 pages on page 1 if they want, it's pay to play.

i do this with 3 sites on 1st page, they keep flipping when one is not there the other is top, when the other is not there the other is top. I always get clients from that keyword. Rankings keep flipping all the time in my niche. My competitors do the same
