Cashing in on Twitter: The Easy Way

I thought I would share this since it would be difficult to saturate it. This has been making me the bulk of my twitter income (nothing else I have done comes close). I'm getting several thousand PPC clicks per day (across about 2,000 accounts). This is not a hand-holding post - here are the broad strokes:

1) Get signed up with a place that will pay you per click. These are numerous (and yes, they all shave but that's just part of the business).

2) Create lots of accounts with hot chicks, etc. I wrote an automated tool for this, but there are loads of them out there.

3) Put an "about me" link on your profile that goes to your pay-per-click link, preferably masking your referrer unless your ppc network allows twitter traffic.

4) Follow, follow, follow. It doesn't matter who you follow - just follow. Use an automated tool that supports multiple accounts. A decent percentage of people will actually click on your "about me" link after they receive a notification that you are now following them, especially if you use a picture of a girl that's hot. Tip: Tile your hot chick's image into the background (you can do this via the account settings and via the API).

5) It doesn't matter what you tweet, if anything. Just don't put anything that makes you seem fake. I usually put at least 1 tweet (making sure it's the top tweet on the account) saying something like "My new facebook is: http://bit.ly/blah" where bit.ly/blah also leads to your CPC link. Whatever you want.

6) Repeat across tons of accounts.

Since this is still a working, active method that I am using today, I'm not sure it's a hot idea to post my earnings here in public, and plus your earnings obviously depend on the links/advertisers that you will be using. I will say that a lot less people would be spamming the crap out of twitter like they do if they knew what I was making doing this.

The best way to determine potential earnings is this: so far the average has been about 6% of the people I follow are clicking (this is with no targeting whatsoever - many of the people followed were probably bots themselves). Yours will be lower if you have no profile pics, etc. So, 100 follows=6 clicks. With a bot you can do 100 follows very quickly. If (for example) you're getting $.20/click, that's $1.20 for every hundred follows. Lets play it safe for twitter and only do 200 follows/unfollows per day. You're making $2.40 per account per day. You can go up or down based on your average compensation per click.

I've been paid anywhere from $.05/click when I was stupid up to $.60/click, and that was from advertisers that actually knew that it was twitter traffic. You may be able to make more. Right now I'm even sending a small percentage of clicks to test click-arbitrage with Google adsense supported pages optimized for really high-paying terms like mesothelioma, credit, insurance, etc.

One more thing: there's no way that I would recommend that someone manually setup 2000 accounts. There is software out there with decaptcher integrated and proxy support (I believe there is - I use my own) that can pretty much build you as many accounts as you want quickly and without intervention. I think I've also seen some mass account customizers available, but I'm not sure about that. I built my own for that as well (I'm not giving it out or selling it, at least not in the immediate future).
