some poofed off top 100 for a few days, others came back within a few hours, it was a 2 page report so excuse the break in the middle

So mine has been stabalized at a lower position for three days that wasnt the case for you right? Also some KWs went N/A and havent been back

well for those sites, the main KW are back, some long tails are still mia, but im sure they come back, afterall they were first page rankings.

It's only adapting after you view the results, and analysed what needs to be changed; such as what went wrong, what got hit and what you need to improve on to stay in the game.
Otherwise, you just get hit over and over.
Not giving up is one trait, but continuing trying without knowing where you are trying to head is foolish and honestly, waste of time, experience and money.
blinding changing your ways to hope for the best is more gamble than adapting.

Links and age my competitors have been there way longer as far as content the number one page barley has anything. I beat them and was #1 and dominated new keywords on a daily but it all went dark after Mar 8 and the guy below me his site did not get touched at all

What i usually do it, i check if they are indexed since usually when this happens, i just don't even bother looking at them anymore, let google be google.
If they are indexed, every time you check, fuck the serps
they will come back, whether it's better or worse.
If you get de-indexed, it's time to backtrack and understand which part you fucked up upon.
If they are worse, means you need to do better SEO, less spammy links
if they are better, means you are well off, and what you are doing is right. (or your competition just sucks)

Trying to track ur KW during updates whether they are going up 2 or down 10 is trying to figure out how the fuck google rank sites.
Needless effort and stressing over it for no reason.

Just chill and take the breather.
Work on your other sites, new projects, on-site SEO, hell even go out and take a jog, go on a date. Let google be google
If you are putting all your efforts for traffic into google, than you already know what you need to work on next.
Other ways to drive traffic when google dance/updates happens.

As we are all aware now the 'Fred' update has gotten all of our sites tanked, but my question is did your tank stabalize. My rankings went from 1st to 56 up to many dances and now 7th and its been like that for three days. Do you guys think there will be more dancing soon or should i work on the site now. This is the first major update that has affected me.

Actually, I'm EXACTLY where I was prior to the Feb. 8th update. Almost like we went back in time.

Anywho, rank tracker says all my keywords are out of top 100. Anyone else seeing such movements?

This is 1500+ terms tracked over 25+ sites for my clients.. ranking went down [I do White-Hat SEO w/o PBNs] by 17%, everyone got mad..

2 weeks later [as of last Friday] it goes back up 13% overall..

Odd thing for me.. 7% of terms fell from Page 1 INTO 50+, 10% new terms came into Top 20 rankings..

That's me.. so it came back, but not COMPLETELY.. people are still made they aren't Position 1|2|3 anymore..

I had a few pages that I thought got hit by Fred, and it looks like the came back to normal on Thursday (for the most part).

Mondays are typically my biggest days for organic traffic and Thursday came in just as strong.

Looking at the Audience overview in GA by hour shows today being a pre-Fred day for me too.

I'm not sure what is up, but I'm honestly getting tired of chasing the algo and ready to take a Wayne Gretzky "skate to where the puck is going to be" type mentality.
