What is an Instagram ban?

Questioning if I've incurred a penalty on Instagram as I've been doing follow to follow manually, getting good ratios and follow back. My content is excellent yet I'm noticing sometimes Instagram won't load lists for followers of accounts and when it does it will limit the list to a hundred or so where as before it would load the whole list by scrolling.

Is this a server thing on their end or has my account been limited?

yes but in a diffrent way, such as you are able to do less actions before a temp ban or not hitting explore and restricted engagement (less of your followers see you posts and you won't appear in explore page/ghosted in hashtags. )

Well that's no good, I was playing by the rules and even doing paid promotions!

Seems like some account I can view followers and others not, doesn't seem to be any correlation between follower size or mutual followers

No idea I can still do everything but view followers of large accounts, regardless of niche. Maybe it's a problem their end
