Facebook Ghosting - A Possible Workaround

Hi guys,

I was recently blocked by Facebook for spamming an affiliate link across a number of groups. After my ban was lifted I tried the links again but slower, but noticed that my reach was much less (about 25% less I would say). Clearly they were ghosting my affiliate links.

Since then, instead of posting the direct affiliate link, I have set up a 301 redirect on one of my domains and the reach looks like it's gone back to normal levels.

Seems that it's a trick to get around Facebook if anyone is having troubles with this

you made 301 different redirect links and just use random each time ?

I setup a redirect on a personal domain. So for example:

www.domain.com/referral 301 -> affiliate link
when the above link was ghosted, I tried another referral link and I seemed to get a better outreach:

www.domain.com/anotherreferral 301 -> same affiliate link

Just looks like FB ghost the links, but if you disguise the link by using another 301 from the same domain, the reach comes back again.

Well, finally I had my tactic of boosting ads on Facebook. But the last times they detect my cloaker (fraudbuster), at least that's why I think. I use own domain and redirect ot Youtube.

How are you tracking the reach of a post in a group?

The groups are all similar, pointless making the analysis. The campaign I'm running is fairly low value but will be testing this for something that has a higher lead value. Will prehapsnl report back later with more detail

I monetize 3rd party data (email). So it's important to track all data sources.

It would seem to me that with posting to groups it would be good to track each group.

If you have a group that never generates any clicks, then why continue to post to the group when the volume that one can post to is limited. So why not post to just the groups that perform?

Because at the moment in time, the effort isn't worth it. At a later date it could be
