How to launch a new social************** network?
This site will be the member monetizing model where members can make money?

So steps needed to launch from start to finish? How to monetize?
How to get half the members revenue they make how to track it etc?

the most common social networking script is available for download on the forum, it was posted not to long ago.

it's actually a decent one to. this site is running on it I believe http://socialvilla.com/.

as far as your other questions, you're asking for a lot of info. it's not hard to get members, simply offer an incentive for being active with their account and referring friends.

monetization is very easy since you can display as many ads as you want to members. also, the more members and traffic you have, the more advertising you can sell to media buyers.

There are many small social networking sites making thousands of dollars a week selling ad space, posting offers they are affiliates of, etc.

and I should add that the best thing you can do is specialize in a niche group. not a small group, but something that makes its members unique and related to one another by joining.

I do have a good idea I think but its how to go about monetizing and setting up .

Its the monetizing I do not know how to go about taking half all members earnings as no doubt members will be taking advantage and promoting affiliate programs.

Well i'm pretty sure you should take a look on how My*Space and other do their monetizing usually through adverts and adsense. Big sites like that have paid advertisers that back them up. I'm thinking the most money obtained through this would be through white hat methods, unless you wanted to stuff some cookies into the pages.

As far as setup goes it's should be like setting up any other website, uploading the scripts and templates and running through the installers. There might be some custom coding involved as well if you want more functionality then what the original script has. So you'll need to brush up on your php, javascript(ajax) and mySQL programming or hire someone to do it for you.

I'm with anyone who wants to combine our efforts to undertake this project together.
Maybe like 3 or 4 of us brilliant members, come together, combine our resources and maybe become the next social website millionaires.

I of course wouldn't be the one to look to for money lol , but I am a brilliant writer & creative thinker.. I could write the content.. and I could come up with the name/theme within minutes if needed.. but of course a project such as this needs to be thought out more.

I am also pretty well skilled at web design / graphics. Unless we wanted to outsource.

The script of course could be attained, shouldn't be a problem with that.

Anyhow just a thought. I am actually planning two seperate 'social' related projects right now, but I am up for a third w/ partners.
