Don't quit the regular job, First of all adsense is not 100% safe and if you are ranking on the first page, you might be nowhere or outranked on the next day and you will end up with no adsense income, so if you quit your job and you dont have any alternative income source this will ruin your personal life.

NOTHING in life is safe. If he has buffer (as I have understood he has kept 90% of his earnings) and he earns in one month more than he earns in a year with regular job then it's stupid to slave away for 12x less money.

You should have a passive and active income sources . If you have like 3-5 different sites, different monetization strategies, then why not.
I have quit my regular job several years ago, but back then I was making like 2-4 months UK salary in a day. SEO paid for both my university degrees
This certain source of money was providing money for 3 years (without any work, good money for few months, then few k for a rest of the time (Bing)).

if you don't hate the job, and it's not taking up a lot of your time, i would keep the job as a safety

Um how is this even a question? You're making 12x your monthly job earnings online? Yes, quit immediately. Full stop. Get the hell out of there.
I quit my job with $10k in the bank and making $0/day online. Huge risk, but eventually it paid off. You're already making money, a good bit of money apparently, you really don't have much risk.
I've been there though, all my friends and family said don't quit but I did it anyways. You just have to not listen to them and do what you think is right. Slaving away for X hours a day when you're making money online is pointless... scale your online money, quit the job.

I remember this guy one telling me about his huge idea for a software company in 2008, but he was "finishing school" and I told him I was into SEO and would quit soon, he said "ya but you need a degree as a backup plan". I dropped out of college (by choice) and never got a degree.
Guess where he is now? Still working a 9-5 job. Guess where I am? Self employed for 7 years.
People want nothing more than to see you fail so they can justify their own failures. Remember that, if you fail they're justified in never trying, never taking that risk. Do it, QUIT the job.

if you need to work all day in some office to get 1/12 monthly profit and you already doing these websites for a few years and you doing well - leave it.
I mean there are much better things which you can do if you work all day on your projects and 1/12 profits wont give you stability and safety

I believe in a general rule of thumb that says; don't quit your day job until you consistently make multiple times your day job salary for at least 4 years, if you can manage. That way, you know your systems works and has weather 4 years of internet changes, which is many years offline.

There is always a risk that includes the online business as well as the job.
It's a good idea to structure your online business so you don't have a single point of failure, like 1 site. Most importantly, have some cash stashed around where you can survive for x years with 0 income. x depends on how long it will take you to get back in the business with multiple chances of failures.
In other words, you can say to your self, if everything goes to shit - that's OK, I'll rebuild. Got time and money.

Agree with most posters here. If I was in your shoes, I would quit my day job. I certainly wouldn't listen to family members who say I shouldn't, because most of them don't even understand how the internet works. If you want to build wealth, stop trading your time for money (i.e. salaried job). Once free from your 9-5, you can focus all of your time on your internet projects, expanding your current projects and diversifying with new projects.

I'm eighteen years old and I've been working since I was fifteen. Currently, I'm building three businesses and I haven't worked a single day for another person. If I can do it, then you can do it! Wait a few months to gather enough money as a back-up, then quit and start investing in other ideas. Gather with like-minded individuals to continue your progress, just like @jazzc said.

My advice to you is to diversify your income to ensure you have the best chance of stability, if you are making 12x your job income in one month then perhaps you have enough income to cut the job loose and use that time to instead build second, third, fourth methods of income so that you can have options if AdSense cuts your earnings or one day just closes your account. Certainly depending on 1 internet source of income does not seem like a smart move, but if you have some savings and the ability to quit the job and use that time to make more income sources then live the dream quit the job and diversify with your extra time.

It depends. I teach at the University and love it although the payments wont be enough for my hosting alone. However, I work only 2 days/week (14 hours max) cuz internet is what is paying the bills
Anyway, if your day job is holding your online ventures then you are crazy and wasring your time. IM isnt risky, optimization method. If adsense banned you, yiu still have traffic which you can optimize.
As long as you have traffic with money, you will be safe for thousand years to come.

Your friends are right imo.
While your income depends on something you don't own (Adsense) you ain't safe.
If for instance you already had a returning client base for some sort of product/lead campaign and you were sure it is not gone and had a method to scale up it would be safer.
As of now, if smth happens to your Adsense you're fucked over.
As @jazzc said, better put some money in the bank while you have your day job that covers your day-to-day costs. Having done this you will stay safe and will have money to invest in future.
