I trade forex myself, first i started reading over 10+ books on forex and trading. Long story short, i blew up plenty of small accounts because i didnt have 1 thing reading wasnt going to get me.. which was "EXPERIENCE" .... I would suggest starting really small, and prove to yourself that you can triple a $500 acct to 1.5k or 2k .. cash out 1k , and do it 2 or 3 more times... Once you know you can do this, then go ahead and invest.

If you have no experience then stay away. As a trader friend of mine said, you might as well drive on the freeway, roll the window down and throw your money out the window.
The biggest mistake is people do decent on a demo account but find out it's completely different when you have actual money on the line. You'll also have to know about the economic calendar and important events, like the US non farm payroll. If you're in a live trade when that puppy hits, you could either win really big or lose really big depending on the data and if you don't have enough in your account you'll get margined out.
If you do decide to trade, use Currenex. It's probably the best platform out there and that's what big traders use. Be sure to set your stops and limits up as well. You'll need excellent money management if you want to stay in the game and be profitable at it.

Its not like keeping money in bank and getting interest from there. Forex can be risky, there's no guarantee that you'll really get any interest, you can even loss all your money in 1 night.

You shouldn't do it if you're asking us about the amount and you do not know what is the interest rate. You either great and can develop own bot for Forex or you think that you can make some quick money. If you the latter then you'll most likely loose it. Either eaybyou wouldn't be asking us.

I suggest go for it. I personally do not listen to people who say no if I have a vision for that project. you can start investing low and once you get the right strategy go high 
do not invest 10k all at once specially if you are starting out without no experience. looking forward to your next thread that you made your 10k to 100k or 1m
