Firstly props for taking action and getting something out there.
Continuous improvement and it will only get better so...
For spam checking there are a few things you want to do.
1) Firstly check over Archive.org look for the last and the first ever snapshot of the site and see if they are on the same topic and preferably pretty much same design and page, look through the other snap shots.
Your goal here is to identify if the site was always used for the same thing and always had the same owner.
You don't want to see a health site that once turned into a selling nike sneakers, you don't want to see a site that was turned or used for a pbn.
2) You want to check the back link profile and namely the anchor text, are there any chinese or russian or weird characters? Check them.
You want a very natural looking anchor text profile, what does that look like? Well >
Is there any anchor text that alludes to commercial keywords like a high percentage of "BUY CHEAP XX" or something.
You want it to show a very natural anchor text profile evenly split, mostly weighted towards "domain.com" "
www.domain.com" "domain" "brand name"
You don't really want any anchor text being more than 30% unless it looks super natural like domain name or brand name. The rest of the anchor u want small amounts and preferably a large percentage saying Other.
There are other steps to take but I think for now that should keep you busy enough to start spotting things
What type of links to build?
In terms of not knowing what type of links to build and stuff, and the guy you got them from having good reviews, I am sure they are useful backlinks but I think you miss judged your need for them.
You see you got these back links pointing at your site when you need to be building real links alongside them, those links you have are good on a domain that also has some Tier1 or Good solid big links hitting the site.
Understand you need to very slowly introduce sites linking to you specially at first, as your site has more diverse links hitting it you can start to boost it with some cool shit like that.
Those links you have should go along with 1 big solid strong link, not just have them on their own, makes sense?
Its like those weaker links having a lot of them are like doing 15+ reps light weight
vs 3-5 heavy weight low reps to build strength is having a solid back link. And right now you want to build strength to the site.
It would be wise to hit your site with a few of those kind of links and some decent blog comments and social media account back links, and then maybe hit it with a good solid link or 2, like an authority guest post.
Understand this: If you had 1 good big clean authority link hitting your site or 50 fairly lame ones. The authority one would totally OWN it and be exponentially better, so what im saying is start to build some better links to your site, like outreach or just do 1 guest post this month and another next month.
As for OnPage seo
Well there is a kinda a lot but it's simple and easy and the other thing is it's really easy information to find just do some searches for OnPage seo id maybe even go so far as suggest to do this in google than on here just look for normal white hat advice and get an idea of the things you need to do, probably better you actually get that kind of info from google rather than a blackhat forum hah!
I would also like to suggest something else to you regarding the niche and way you are targeting it.
I think its competitive niche so really focusing on seo globally to bring in good search results might be a bit silly for your current knowledge and site and you would be wise to do the following for quicker results and approach it like this...
Do more in-depth keyword research for your site specially to target some local stuff and longer tail stuff.
Utilise social media a lot for driving traffic, really focus your strategy for this kind of site based on driving targeted traffic for as cheap and effectively as possible.
And focus more on marketing than just seo for it, like advertising it in high traffic areas.
You got all those links but that is focusing on google ranks which I think you would be better focused right now on attaining targeted traffic.
You can do this through some niche relevant guest blog posts, and high traffic niche relevant blog comments, and some forum posts in niche relevant forums, start helping people out on them and posting and stuff and offer some cool help in blog comments. This way it is tripple win for you as, you will get your links posted in ur name on the blogs and links posted on these places which gives a strong good back link (pick good blogs to comment on) and you will also generate target focused traffic directly from these places. BEAST!

If this helped you maybe you can help me...
I know this is general and subjective but its the piece I'm missing and its good to have a numerical goal to hit., super helps me progress, not sure if you will know this roughly but...
I'm currently benching 30kg dumbbells 5 rep, and been told I wanna get up to 45kg to start to see the results I want (Captain america) and this seems about right for me.
I'm just wondering what 5 rep max weight should I be aiming eventually to hit for say, bicep curls to get Captain america arms (17inch) ?
And any other tricep, chest, bicep rep/weight stats to reach Captain America or Thor body would super help, cheers.
