youtube niche idea (need advice)

hi guys sorry if im boring u with my posts just joined BHW today
i have an idea for my youtube channel im hoping to make some money with

I currently have videos of popular underground rappers some which have over 10k views
but problem is they are not my videos some are reuploads from other channels that took there videos down

my idea: (embarrassing)
I have been thinking of writing my own lyrics and just rapping myself and uploading my own content and hopefully if people like it my channel will grow iv thought of doing this before but my embarrassment (making a fool out myself) has stopped me but whats the worst that could happen?

what do you guys think of my idea?
do you have any better ones i can do?
how can i grow a fan base once i start uploading my unique content?

If it is your passion, go for it. Justin bieber got famous because of youtube as well. Don't expect to get thousands of views of the bet. It can happen but the chance of that happening is limited. Good luck on your journey!

ok thanks its just i see good rappers with dead channels
and i see bad rappers getting lots of views

maybe theres a website were people are checking out each other vids?
i know it mostly comes down to wether you make entertaining videos or not

i decided im going to put out 1 fire freestyle over a fire beat and see were that leads...

One of my first online projects was attempting to sell rap beats I made lol.... lets juts say it didn't make me money but I had a good time producing them. The main thing is you should just enjoy rapping and making music and sharing that with others, if people resonate they resonate. Good/bad is subjective..... just put it out there. 1 rap/day

OP if you like rapping then anything else is irrelevant. If you can produce good beats traffic will come on its own. Sure you can do some promotion like sharing your vids at social media, that should bring a good amount of traffic.

But if your goal is to make money from YT, there are faster better methods. Just sayin'. People make synchronized lyrics for popular music and makes money. If the goal is to get better result with least work then your plan doesn't seem very efficient to me (but if you have talent then who knows )

i do like rapping but as you said there are better more efficient ways
i just wanna make some big money im not out to be the justin bieber of rap lol

maybe ill release some rap videos one day but atm im broke and just tryna get a stable income

Working 2 jobs before they make a little bit of money with there music. Do it because you want to do it for the music itself. So please don't try to become the next one song hit. The first thing that rang out when I read this was TEAM BACKPACK
yaa they are talented etc but more to my point is the fact they are a changing team of rappers

IF you have a good local hip hop scene consider tapping into that for content take the direct focus off yourself itll help you come into your own as well

IF your local scene sucks consider reaching out to other rappers via youtube or social media to network with other new new rappers.

all this being said I'm not a successful rapper so have a grain of salt waiting

i do have a passion for music but i gotta be in the right mindset to write some decent lyrics
i know theres no easy way to making money through youtube im just looking to make enough to fund some equipment

i think once i cashout my first bit of money and i can say (i worked for this) invest in some equipment ill feel like a boss then ill be motivated to release videos all the time

He is now rich, not because he wanted to make a quick buck (he wanted to be a rich rapper don't get me wrong) but the passion he had for rap is why he made it from scratch. im not set on being a famous rapper or anything i just want to grow my youtube channel to a point were i have money to make my ideas happen
tbh i change my mind all the time 1.day ill wanna make my own cartoon series for yt then ill wanna make rap songs
i guess im trying to find my way in life im 21 years old only jobs ive had are early morning cleaning ones because of bad social anxiety i wanna earn money with my creativity
i dont wanna be a bum for the rest of my life

I know someone that have 3m subs. Making music etc, 2009-2012. So in 3 years he made only 13k USD which you can make easy by just make fail vids. lmao. After xxx Subs, everything went quickly. People started to tell other friends etc, you know how things going.

Fastest way to earn money on youtube is just by making crash complications, fail, win etc. Someone here on BHW have to find the thread, get's an average of 100k views per video. He only had 15k subs.

And if you want to be Unique, do what Bestproxies said, cover songs.
