Hi guys,

Anchor text is a much talked about topic. Specially the ratio between keyword rich anchor text. I am wondering if you are building links without keywords in the anchor text, so you are just putting the website name or the company name will the site also rank higher in Google on the topics which are on the website? Or do only keyword rich anchor text help you rank on such search terms?

The key is to get all kinds of links, if you build only anchors = trouble. Search BHW, there are plenty of threads talking about link anchor distribution ratio.

Well it totally depends on the occasion at hand. If the link is to be put on content then relevant anchor texts with keywords are needed (but not over optimized). And if the link has to be put on say at the author's bio section of any guest post then obviously the company name anchor text will do better.

Thanks for your reply's so even if a site only uses it's company name it will also rank higher on topics of it's website? Let's say the company doesn't have any anchor text with keywords in it :P I am just wondering about this

Yes it will, google is looking for relevancy of linking page. It will help a lot if you link to your site with your brand name as anchor from article that is related to your keywords. Lets say your site is about cats and called kittyparadise, so linking from article called "Cats are curious creatures" with brand KittyParadise as anchor will help. Got the idea?
