Seriously, wtf. I thought this sort of stuff only happens to sellers.

I've had my paypal account for over 1.5 years now and used it mainly for buying sh*t. In the recent weeks, I've been buying a few packages from this forum and today I get an email saying my account is suspicious and that I need to send info about the transactions and proof of address...

So I go along with it and a few minutes ago, I get an email saying my paypal account has been closed... wtf. I've been a good and honest customer and literally for no apparent reason they shut my account down. F**K You paypal...

They probably found suspicious you buying services from a BlackHat Forum. Contact them you might get your account back

Possibly. I've never had an issue with PayPal, though I have heard of a few cases where members here encountered problems when there was a sudden surge in their activity (e.g., going from 3 figures a day to figures). But those were business accounts.

Best thing you can do is call them. Their email system can suck at times. I've received an email telling me my account was closed and there was nothing that could be done, called them and the email turned out to be a mistake. Took them a day, but got the right person to re-open the account. So, call them and be polite, give the info they ask for.

Are you sure this was actually PayPal? It's likely you sent your details to a stranger who got your account locked.
I've had thousands locked in PayPal before, you don't usually get a PayPal account locked from buying things, just from random incomes.

The email did seem fishy at first, but the issue was also apparent in my paypal account so it had to be legit

They should have not closed your PayPal account for purchasing virtual goods. I have been buying link packages here since last year and I have had no problem with my PayPal. Maybe it was a mistake, try to contact them and email them.

Forgot to mention, I'm actually going through something similar. A couple weeks ago I tried eBay dropshipping, added some products and kind of forgot about it and up until a couple days ago I realized I got a few sales that turned into having a negative balance on my PayPal account that WON'T go away. I contacted them like 5 times and they won't do anything. So every time I try to buy literally anything it asks me to pay off the negative balance and I do but it still shows the negative balance afterwards. PayPal is f87@*(&ked. Literally might have to make a new account which would be kind of sad.

Anyway, just try to keep contacting them and explain your situation. Hopefully you'll get it back.

Heard horrorstories before where people doing e-commerce litteraly had tens of thousands of dollars frozen on PP.. Not cool at all!
