Importance of IG phone verification

I have just added some accounts that I want to grow in a serious/professional manner. I'm not trying to do scam accounts in the 100s/1000s but will want to grow them over time. My question is how important it is to add phone numbers to an account? If I only keep an email address, does it make them less safe or am I more likely to get problems with IG? The reason is that I have previously used Google voice numbers to verify accounts but this for some reason is no longer working (they're new numbers but it doesn't seem to go through). I've read on BHW that IG sometimes won't accept Google voice numbers anymore. Before I go out and buy disposable SIM cards, I'd be interested to know if people have either an alternative safe solution (virtual numbers are tricky) or if anyone is using accounts without a phone number. Any feedback is much appreciated.

You could use the accounts until they require PV & most people aren't going to give away their methods. Test for yourself if you really want to know!

I understand but at the same time it's not necessarily a method. Like I said, I'm not trying to do something in the 100s, so a manual process is fine. I just don't want to buy SIM cards for every account. There must be a way to get a few numbers somehow.

they're all already using IG. Oh well, might have to get a few additional SIM cards.

It's better not to have any phone number linked. Since you can get hacked easly if someone knows your number

Interesting. They would have to know the number though, which doesn't show up in the profile.
