Which Platform for Hosting Courses?

A friend of mine is planning to create a course and sell it online. He doesn't want to go to third party marketplaces like Udemy, etc. What are the options for him for self-hosting the courses? I found the following:

Teachable - ClickMinded uses this
Thinkific
Zenler

Are there any other ones that he should be looking at? Do you have any experience working with any of these?

if only 1 course title, wordpress with membership system like s2member can handle it..
if more than 5 use use wordpress + plugin like coursepress, woocomerce or something like that...
if i'm not wrong, kelbyone use wordpress + woocommerce + sensei plugin
