Thank you for your answer, I have read it but wanted to know if someone did it and most important, does it affect SEO.
I am about to do the move and don't want to loose all the SEO poer of the wiki.

Migrating to a new domain will temporarily affect your traffic and search engine ranking as search engines adjust to the changes. This happens to all sites that switch to a new domain.

thats what I tell my clients, that have 1998 style plain html and want to migrate to (insert CMS Name here):

hence, I even should do some case studies where I will strip the site from the WP theme and build a basic html...
