i am interested in knowing too. I have been hosting on a shared hosting plan and the speed is not that great anymore. It has significantly slowed down after I reach around 10000 posts (total on all blogs) including some videos. Maybe I should be looking at vps or dedi?

Depends on which stage you are:-

Initial stage: Around 15 autoblogs - shared hosting - $5
Medium stage: Upto 200 autoblogs - VPS - $30
Advanced stage: Upto 500 autoblogs - Small dedi - $90
Supreme stage: More than 600 autoblogs - Dedicated - $170

Advantage of VPS and dedi is that you get a fixed amount of memory and CPU for you. Hence you cannot exceed your limitations above the cap. Hence the worst that can happen is that the server/websites will slow down but you will never be booted (without warning, like it happens on shared hosting like hostGAYtor or ghostmonster). So you can do whatever you want!
