Does anyone have an up-to-date code to block bots like majestic, ahrefs and MOZ for .htaccess on wordpress?

I'd really aprreciate it. Thank you

WP Plugins are also available to do this if you are using wordpress for your PBN sites. Mix it up, dont go around do the .htaccess or WP plugins for all your PBNs.

And I obviously still want google to be able to crawl my site. That code won't stop them will it?

And please educate me on something. Even if ahrefs cannot crawl my site, it will still crawl all of the other sites that the links are displayed on, so will still know about the links and display them to my competitors won't they?

In your .htaccess file. You can find it in public_html directly if the domain parent to the cpanel account or in public_html->domain.com if its an addon domain.

You are looking at it the wrong way. You will use this sdomain1.com (i assume) to link to any of your money sites. You competitors will check your money sites backlinks via ahrefs/majestic and since they can't crawl domain1.com they don't know what it links to and hence don't show any results for backlinks of your money site.

Yeah, I've done it with a 301'd domain instead of a subdomain.
With another domain I have been able to set the robot blocking for the whole site, and redirect specific pages with specific links to the pages that I want on my money site.
If I'd have gone the subdomain root I'd have had to have created a new subdomain for every page on my money site that I wanted to link to.

Code listed above is for robots.txt file, and as asap1 said, robots.txt is readable by google, while .htaccess is not.

I'm not sure why would anyone block bots via robots.txt as they have a choice in that case to "listen" and do as by robots.txt and yet, it's visible, but while with .htaccess it's a directive and not an option.

Is this still working? I pasted in my .htaccess but when I check the domain with ahrefs it still shows all backlinks of the Domain?
