Does Google Even Read Spam Reports?

Before starting to call me newbie SEO or stuff like that, I wasn't thinking of reporting any of my competitors or anything. I'm in a niche where pretty much 7 out of 10 sites in the top 10 are affiliate sites with obvious PBN links and Web 2.0's/Spammed Tier 1 Link Farms. I was worried that once I actually entered the top 10 (I'm currently ranking on page 5-7 for several keywords, I have only got around 15% of my total links indexed an almost no PBN or Strong links indexed) I might get reported to google.
Does anyone actually have any experience with this? Does anyone know if Google even responds to these reports? I'm actually quite concerned that this might happen to me.

They do but I mean, unless you're in a market like Payday or Pharma where Google could be legally liable, they don't often take action. I have 2 sites ranking in competitive market for 1.5 years never had a problem. But when I used to compete in payday a few years ago sites would get manually dropped all the time.

Thanks for your reply, the reason I'm asking this question is because I usually do gray hat or white hat seo and I've been doing so for 2 years, I started looking into simple niche sites as a way to supplement my income while my white hat/gray hat sites take time to mature and I've been constantly worrying about something happening to them.

Everyone in those top 10 positions is playing the same game as you.

If you could take them down by filling a form, they can do the same to you.

There is not a single commercial site up there that is either:

1. Spending millions on ads per day, in which case they're already big corporations.
2. Using some sort of black hat to get up there.

Unless you are a content site like Wikipedia, which gets a free ride. If you're selling stuff, it's basically impossible to rank without playing the game.
