Can be a problem buy an expired domain to start a project?

In this week I almost buy an site that already earns. Infortunaly, the seller already sold the site. Anyway...

Now, I will start my own project, based on this site. My goals is to took his position in 6 months.

I'm having done some research about "more fast ways" to rank and found about expired domains. I see a lot of people using these domains to build your own PBN, but I didn't found anything about to use an expired domain in a main project.

Is there any problem to use an expired domain?
What your opinion.

And, if don't have any problem, can you guys tell me how can I found some good domain, in these days? I have doubts about metrics.

I myself too always read people start project on expired domain, though to me its a bit risky. Consider the expired domain is much on focus these days, first you must be 100% clear this domain is Clean or you will be fucked for sure, for example, no index, waste time and money on contents etc.

Besides that, find a suitable niche domain can be very hard, say you want a dog cola niche expired domain, the chance you can find such domain nearly impossible, because too many people scraping domains 7/24 and a good PBN domain is damn hard to get these days, let alone you want a specific niche.

But dont take my words, I think people can always overcome this, you can first use a batch of articles to test, if domain got normal index and ranking, then scale up.

That's why you purchase authority domains, so that there is no risk that it was a spammy site.

No, not really, but you need to have at least some budget.

Risky? Well, I've been doing this for years and all of a sudden, there's so much hype about it.

You need an auction domain RD100+ ideally for a money site, within your niche, which can be problem if it's too narrow and if it's some really competetive niche, then brandable domains with RD100+ can climb even up to $400, because prices are crazy nowadays. Ofc domain has to be cleaned and if you are buying from auctions, then also indexed is a good call. Anchors should not be too much "all over the place" and preferrably brand/URL/generic. All of this is easier said than done really, but can be done.

When I can find these domains? I have been searching in ExpiredDomains but all domains are low quality domains.

And another question: It's rare to find a good domain which is expired to register, am I right?
