Hey guys! I'm a little stuck, and need the help of someone who has experience selling on Amazon FBA with a private label. I have spent weeks now reading things online, books, watching webinars and Youtube videos. I know exactly what needs to be done in regards to how to contact different suppliers overseas, how to negotiate a good price, shipping. I'm also confident I'll be able to optimize my listing, and I also have a launch plan on how I'll get reviews. The problem is - finding a product! I paid for the chrome extension of Jungle Scout, and I also am paying the monthly subscription for their Product Database, but I'm stuck on what to look for!

I'm not looking for anyone to give me the easy answers, or to find my product for me. But I would love if someone who has successfully launched a private label product could give me some pointers on which categories are the most beginner friendly or what worked for you, how to tell if there's room for the product using other seller's reviews/best sellers rank and things like that. I guess I just need a mentor to bounce ideas around with. I don't trust most of the easily available information out there from the "gurus" since most of them have their own agendas.

https://amazeowl.com/ is as good as Jungle scout or better and its FREE!
Hope this helps: http://www.skipmcgrath.com/articles/amazon-selling-tips.shtml

For product research, I think it is ultimately something you will have to figure out on your own. I agree its a waste of money to pay Amazon Gurus for a bunch of tips you can find online for free anyways.

Cloudscout is helpful for product research and it's low cost.
