(not really blackhat) Changing niche/sub-niche?

Hey guys, i give you an example for what i mean.

Imagine you have a food niche-blog who have only apples. Every lovely fcking apple out there is on your blog, boners everywhere if you post a apple..but...now you dont like apples so much anymore and you are a food-niche insta, so you think about changing to apples AND bananas. (or milk..or...you got it i guess)

Do you think thats possible without risking the whole engagement?

whenever you change your niche its usually affects it noticeably
im in the cars niche and when ever i post a car that's just slightly different to what my followers like my engagement for that photo drops a lot.

not on all posts, just in my experience any photo that is slightly different than what they usually see (even if its in the same niche)

Yeah of course it works. A community complains always complains about change, but you kind of have to enforce it, and they will quickly get used to it.

For example, there was this exploding Youtube channel from my country of two dudes interviewing random people in the streets and asking personal questions. For months, that is all they uploaded until they hit 200,000 subscribers. Suddenly they started switched to a talk show and that became 80% of their content, and people were outraged, like wtf is this shit. Gradually people began to value it though and they only gained more subscribers.

Ask yourself if both niches (current and new) has same target audience or not.
For instance, people following healthy lifestyle blog would still interact with the healthy food and sports niches

I would say that's not the best of ideas, it would probably be better to sell the account and start a brand new one!

Yeah, its a personal account for my business (not a business account)..so i cant sell it lol.
There is a community and yeah, i dont know if they get used to it...i think i wait till i have a big organic growth and then i start pumping out the new stuff.

maybe you could ask your audience if they are interested in seeing this new kind of content? that's kind of an obvious thing to try
