Hi Fellas!

Not sure if I'm in the right pool. I've been trying to purchase something off of Shopify for my son....and the last 8 times that there was an announcement that the toy would be available at 9pm on a certain day....the item would sell out in fraction of a second.

I was told that I would likely not be able to buy one because people are using good automated "bots" or "scripts" to purchase them....and that is why I have had no luck these past 2 months trying to make a purchase.

I'm here hoping I can get some advice from someone as to how to make a successful purchase. Hope someone can help me. Thanks!

If it's something that scarce then you are more than likely going to be paying over the odds. I would just seek an alternative as no toy is worth losing sleep over.

Try the WtB section and be careful, plenty of scammers selling fake bots. Carry out your own due diligence BEFORE purchasing.

It's a fidget toy. They sell between $55 and $180....only one per order. And you find them later on eBay fetching north of $400 in many cases. Yes....I've waited for them to come in stock hitting the refresh key, as soon as they become visible, by the time I try and check out, I get an error saying the item is no longer in stock.

I'm not going to pay $400 for a $55 fidget toy. Someone told me I might be able to get a few pointers from this forum. I thought my IP speed might be playing a factor.....so just out of curiosity, I called my IP provider to see if I could get higher speeds. And they gave me 100Mbps for free.....instead of 40Mbps.

Other people who were lucky enough to get one.....claimed that they used their mobile phone to order in some cases. There is a FB group that many chime in and discuss this, and some have said that bots were being used.

The owner found out that someone was using a bot, and he canceled his order. A lot of people do this to buy than flip the product on eBay. That's not what I want to do. Just trying to get one or two for my kids.

I don't know enough and am not savvy enough to buy a bot to try and do this on my own. I was hoping to learn a little something something to help my chances. Someone said they found a "free" bot and they were able to get one.

Sure, I can send you a link to the shop. However, the exact items are not listed. He currently has two of these fidget toys listed (sold out) that are made out of titanium. On the next release/drop....he will have others made of aluminum, brass, copper, etc.

He no longer posts links to the products, he claimed he no longer does that in order to stop people from using "bots". However, someone was able to order one with the use of a bot. The two items listed at this moment, will not be available next drop. I will PM you the link to the store. Thank you so much for the help!

I actually think I've seen those for sale before cheaply on eBay (I bought a fidget toy for my mother as a Christmas gift; I think this was one of the other toys I was considering getting her). Hold on, let me get you the links.

Man, you weren't kidding; those things are sold out everywhere.

Though I do wonder if you're able to contact them via e-mail and see if you can reserve one several months in advance.
