How would you go about promoting a subreddit?

I created a subreddit and am looking for ways to get users. Any advice is appreciated, am willing to spend some money too.

X-posts of good content from your sub to other larger related subs would be my suggestion. That or setup some sort of alert for very specific keyword streams and plug your sub there. Maybe reach out to mods from other related subs as well and see if they would link your sub in the sidebar.

Yeah, you should definitely focus on advertising your subreddit in other Reddit pages of similar content and if applicable even try to create a presence on Imgur as many Redditors also frequent Imgur regularly whether this route works depends heavily on what exactly your content is.

It's making money content, so imgur probably wouldn't work, but thank you.

How exactly would you create a presence on imgur? I have posted on imgur and gotten thousands of upvotes on the images i created and posted but I have no idea how I could bring those people to my subreddit.
