Traffic for Membership Site

Wanted to know what others do to drive traffic to their membership sites...what methods do you use for free or paid. Especially if its for sites with a very small niche.

what kind of a membership site is it? if its a forum there are different ways if it is a blog there are different ways, so it would depend on the type of site.

If you can spend some money, then a good advertising campaign can bring in a lot of targeted traffic.Especially solo ads.

Advertise at websites where your niche people go. That's what I do. Specifically target your banner ads to places where your customers are most likely to go.

Learn as much as you can about your customers and where else they go. Advertise there.

Go to where your audience members go and then advertise on those sites. Target your ads carefully. Do a lot of research into where your niche followers are gathering. For example, if you're doing foot fetish people, go to their forums and file sharing sites, narrow down exactly where your prospective members are gathering and then advertise your banners there.
