Look for its backlinks, you will find a most important page in Authority, check that page on Moz, and you will get normal PA/DA.

Why do want to check these metrics?

Are looking to get backlinks or looking buy these domains?

I'm trying to buy these domains

OP, It's either of non-www or www version that have PA of 1.

Read it. Was very helpful.

But can anyone tell me. Is it bad to buy an expired domain that is not indexed on Google.
Definitely more risky, it might have been deindexed previously by google because it was part of a PBN

Or it could just be long period of inactivity.

This depends. If you are buying from me or from one of the good sellers here, then the domain does not have to be indexed at all. They are mostly thoroughly checked and are perfectly clean so will get indexed without any issues onec you put the content up. If you are doing the background check yourself, and if you lack experience in this regard, then you should either learn how to do it properly or get just the indexed ones. Otherwise you are risking buying a penalized "brick" which will not index.

That article sounds like a load of absolute shite, the writer just continues to claim over and over again that domain authority doesn't exist with his "sources" being Matt Cunts and Ilyes... domain authority is 110% a fact. That is the exact reason why Amazon shows up all over the internet and high up top even if the pages just mention a keyword once, and outrank a newer/niche'd website that has significantly better content but isn't a mega-authority with millions of links.
