Hi guys!
I have an issue with Facebook Ads and IG ads.
So, when I boost post, I choose to boost the post in Instagram too.
The problem is that the post engagements (mostly likes in the IG ad) are 100% from Instragram and not from Facebook which I want too because I have more clicks. ¿What happens there?
And I have another question. Should I choose Cost per "post engagement" or per "impression"?
Thank you very much.

Good question.
Im following this topic. - Im curious about the "post engagement" or per "impression" too :)

simply create a seperate ad for IG and FB promotions
then test out paying for both impressions as well as PPE and see which one works better for you

test things out on your own thats the only way youll learn anything

though PPE will probably work better

Thanks for the replies!
I have tried with IG ads only and the clicks (which I want) were low but instead I had like 0.02 per post engagement which I think is good and bad at the same time (I'm not interested in likes, shares and comments, only clicks)
With only FB ads and the same money spent like the IG only, I had a few more clicks but at 0.15 per post engagement, so It was very expensive and a few engagements.
And as I asked. I have tried FB and IG together and the 100% of the engagements were from IG, so the clicks as I said before were a few.
I don't know how they do but I met some people who has a lot of traffic only from FB and they pay 0.01 per post engagements (lots of clicks from those engagements). That's what I want to know :(
And also, I have tried both of PPE and pay per impression, and I don't really see a lot of difference...

(Sorry for my english, I'm not native) :)

Use different ad sets to accomplish this goal of keeping them seperate!

It's possible to get 0.01 or less PPE costs without running IG. I haven't ran IG and FB together at the same time, but FB will always favor one variable over the other one. For example, you do an ad targetting US and UK it many cases UK will spend 85% of the budget. It's just the way the platform is I suppose....

Anyways, I have ran IG before and you're right, the CTR on PPE is awful on IG. Everyone just likes posts and thats it.
Keep trying with FB, it's possible to get 0.01 PPE costs and lower.

here's your answer,
as for the Pay per post engagement or per impression, it really depends on your ad, ask your self few questions :
- is your ad Super attractive and relevant to your audience ?
- would you click it to find out more ?
etc, in this case making ad for impression is way better than per post engagement..
in other scenarios its better to make it per post engagement so you don't waste lot of money for people just watching and leaving with no interest in your ads.

if you are not sure what your audience type is , best thing to do is multiple ad sets, 5 or even 10 ad sets, then sit and watch :D pause / delete slow expensive ads, and boost ads with good results .
