when do you stop the follow/ unfollow method? 20k 50k etc?

also do you follow private users? if you do surely you will at somepoint run out of follows if they dont respond and you dont unrequest them all?

I think you stop whenever you achieved your mark but there is no endpoint (that I know of)

You don't really have to stop if you don't want to. If you're looking for a practical answer, stop following when you hit 5 digit followers above the number you're following. You should be able to gain followers organically by then.

After 25k you start getting enough organic followers without follow/unfollow given your content is good

What I usually do is to stop following/unfollowing for a week and try if I am going to get enough organic followers. If I get a lot, then I will stop it. If I don't get enough, then I will do it again.

In different threads, people are talking about the "follow/unfollow method" for beginners - to gain a "relevant" number of followers. Has anyone an advice how to do? Is it just following a bunch of people AND then unfollow them after some days? And is this done manually or with a bot / any kind of app?
I guess the likelyhood of gaining followers is higher if I choose especially people who uploaded pics with the hastga #f4f or #follow4follow. Any comment on that?

You could have opened your own thread, since this is an old one.

Yeah there are softwares that do this work for you.

The followers you gain this way won't do shit for you except inflate your numbers. They won't like your posts, make your brand known or buy anything. But if you want to grow your numbers without paying much, this is the BH way to go.

As a new member I didnt want to be "too offensive" with opening new threads, but I guess you are right.
But anyway, thank you for your answer, bartosimpsonio. I understand the mentioned problem, I guess that's why those (inactive) followers are called "ghosts". But if I use a software, isnt that the problem? Or are there tools / software that are capable to filter kind of "relevant" followers (for example if I wanna promote via IG mountainbikes, is there a software that is able to find users that are interested in exactly that topic)?

Opening a new thread would not be offensive at all. It's alright.

Yes there are several softwares that do that. Massplanner and followliker are two very popular around here. But there are others. Do your own research and don't trust just any recommendation.
