Suggestions for a New Project with a Large Budget?

Hi everyone,

I used to be a poster here around 2014/15 (mainly a lurker!). Since then, I've made good money selling eBooks, but it's time to start a new venture -- as well as continuing to grow my eBook business.

I'm not sure how things have changed in the last few years and what methods people recommend. If someone could point me in the right direction of where to read I would really appreciate that. A few years ago most recommendations where for Amazon affiliate sites. I'm not too keen on that idea as I prefer something with a longer term potential, plus SEO is a big weakness of mine!

I'm also in a much better position than all those years ago. My eBooks make a low five-figure income (or very high four-figure!) each month, which means I have money to invest and back this project, and continue to do so into the medium term to get it off the ground. I'm not sure if having a budget like this opens up new ideas or new niches to me, or makes me vulnerable to just blowing the budget.

Anyway, thanks in advance for anyone who responds. This forum is a great place to learn and as long as you put the advice into action, you can make a good living.

people do amazon because it's long term. amazon isn't going anywhere. plus people already trust amazon over self-hosted ecommerce shops. if you're not on the amzn marketplace i would say you're missing out on a lot of money. there've been a couple posts shared here about how to get started selling on amzn/kindle marketplace.

Create and run an ad network, it is a billion dollar industry with a high entry barrier so it isn't as oversaturated as many other niches.

Samxx, do you have any information about where to start with ad networks? I will have to look around and dig deeper. Does it require any technical skills?

Its dangerous investing in large amounts into something new. You make a mistake, and that's it for you.
1. Why don't you invest into your current project and automate and scale it up?
2. You can invest in small amounts into new projects (think of it like a seed - your plant is your budget so you want to seed ideas and not the whole plant)

My plan is to expand my current project and launch new ones in new niches. It is already mostly automated, fortunately.

I want to diversify -- and I enjoy the challenge of earning from a new method -- just in case something outside of my control impacts me. I wouldn't be investing my whole budget, but I could certainly risk 1-2k a month if an opportunity presented itself!

My 2 cents:

You are in a position to screw yourself by blowing your hard earned money trying to find that "next big idea", but you already know that.

Why not just do more of what you are already doing? I doubt that you have scratched the surface of whatever you are currently doing to earn a living. Scale???
