How to combat niche theft?

A very specific domain was registered in my almost micro-niche about a day after I bought some SEO off a somewhat popular guy, and while it could be a coincidence Im not sure it is. Assuming the guy stole my niche, what could I do to combat it? Leave a poor review? Negative seo? Show up at his house with a mask? He's got no domain privacy but he doesn't share his real name or location on his profile so I can't be sure it's the same guy

Honestly, there's not much you can do about it. Don't bother with negative SEO. Just get on with building your own site and doing a good job.

I think we both know that I'd be better off if I didn't possibly expose a niche to a guy who seems to know his seo.
 
Niche theft thats a new one. unless you have patent on your niche this is what happens.

Love that, niche theft. So if you register a music domain name does that mean you own the music niche?
Contact a lawyer I'm sure they will find this funny
 
It's called competition and happens everywhere.

There is no such thing as niche theft.Everyone is targeting something.

If you think you're the only one in that niche....then think again.
 
Go to the dark web and hire a hitman....Or you could work 24/7 and stomp his business to the ground.
 
There is nothing you can do about it, but as a service provider, it's not smart to piss off your paying customers by starting to directly compete with them.
 
It does suck when some one that you've worked with does this.

Even more so in person. We hired a couple of people a few years ago to help us with some manufacturing work during a busy season (which has a relatively low barrier of entry $ wise, other than having the know how). Few months later, their contract ended, and they started the same business!

Fortunately, they didn't do any IM, so they only took a few of our local clients.
