Not a method/just an observation. I'm a social media noob.

I hate social media. Always have and always will. I read all of the threads here about Instagram and OG and I just laugh. I know that 99%+ of us don't have a chance getting past the spam filters, at least not long enough to really earn anything worthwhile. I read about FB page spamming and laugh. Same thing- only a very small minority have the skills to make an income mass spamming it. I tried Twitter and MP, and I got bored with it. Maybe I'm just too dumb to make a dollar or less at a time with CPA and socials, idk...

But after fattening up for Christmas I decided to give Instagram a shot. What the hell, at least I can see what the rave is about. I have never even been to Insta (I'm old), so at least I could know what I've been laughing about.

I created an Instagram business account on the 26th (three days ago). I used my real business phone, real business email, and put a link to my business ecommerce (Shopify) store in the bio. The bio tells people to call me with any questions and gives them my real number.

So I pretty quickly realized how easy it was to find people that are into my niche. I have made a total of 11 posts in the three days that I have been on it. I started following people in my niche, and I made a few likes and comments on their pics.

My numbers so far are 54 following me, and I'm following 148. Nothing, I know, but it's a start?

So I was just having some fun with it. I expected to get bored with it pretty fast, like I do on almost everything.

But last night I got a sale that came from Instagram. This morning I got a second sale and customer from it.

That was a quick $200 earned on less than an hour's worth of "work" on Instagram. That's immediate revenue/profit, and not the expected lifetime value of the customer.

So, yeah... apparently you really can make a buck with Instagram!

FYI, people don't reveal their niches here for a reason. They usually get saturated pretty quickly. It's considered rude/stupid to ask.

Ranking in serps is one way to get traffic. It's also an unfair game where you are only allowed to see a few of the thousand rules, and the game owner can change the rules whenever they want to.

I honestly believe that the niche is just a minor factor in ecommerce. Have you heard of selling a refrigerator to an Eskimo? There's a lot of wisdom in that line.

Let's say that I say my niche is "gold nuggets". So what? You can build a million sites on gold nuggets and lose your ass off.

Yeah, the niche can be a factor, but it's such a small piece of the pie.

There's so much more to this but I'm starting to bore myself.

Yeah I don't have any interest in CPA really, I've yet to see a CPA offer that I would feel morally justified in promoting. I'm not claiming to be a saint or anything but I'd much rather sell products to consumers who want them than persuade people to download some shitty game or give their email to some spammer.

We all answer to our own conscious right? I don't know.... to each his own. I just know that I wanted to see if I could find traffic that converts for real products (my old drawers) in my store at IG. The answer was a very fast "yes".

Pretty cool to me.

There's a variety of ways to make money on Instagram, a lot more than are discussed here at BHW. I do agree that I see a lot of love for the IG+OGAds stuff, but that's just one of a million ways to make money on Instagram. If you take some creativity and something worth selling or a service valuable enough to provide, you very much can find work and customers on IG.

Pretty good stuff, tried my hand at promoting OGads offers a while back and didn't make what I needed plus i wasn't really into it.
Working on selling via affiliates now in a niche i like with accounts that aren't spam promoting real products.
lots of talk around here of people making money from IG, good on ya op for getting success with Ig for what is effectively little work.
