Keyword Research..please guide me

know this has been ask a lot of times but hey it is 2017 so maybe there is an update.

1. Anyway, just want to know which is the best keyword research tool at the moment paid or free?

I read somewhere that google keyword planner is ok but it is best used for adwords? and not really that good for keyword research? i dont know. i am kind of confuse with. i dont know if you even understand what i am asking.

2. also how to you select your keywords?

i know each one has his own but basically what are the parameters that you follow? range of monthly searches, competition, etc...

3. ive tried google keyword planner just a while ago. monthly searches for the kw in australia is 10-100. does figuratively mean that only 10-100 users typed on that kw in a 12 month period? so out of millions who live in this country, a range of 10-100 users searched on that kw? or am i missing something here? by the way competition was high despite of low number of search

I tend to use SEMRush and Google Keyword planner, although the search numbers have now been amended, if you don't have an active account it seems.

Hello buddy,

To scrape the keywords Google Adword planner is good.
If you want to know the keyword's search volume then you can go with keywordrevealer tool. It also provide you with the keyword difficulty.
Even though it shows low competition, you have to do some manual research to decide whether the keyword is low competition or not.

Google Keyword Tools is almost useless for SEO keyword research nowadays, since they started providing ranges data instead of exact numbers, and the competition they refer to in their metrics refers to Adwords competition.

There are a lot of specialized keyword research tools on the market, that provide exact search numbers and an analysis of SEO difficulty so you understand how profitable it is to rank for a certain keywords. Some of them have a free trial, or a free albeit limited plan.

I recommend Ferzy.com for beginners (full disclosure, I am involved with them), there is a lifetime free plan, although limited, that can help you with your keyword research in the beginning.
 
Still, I am using keyword planner. Nothing has changed much, just you need to be focused on what peoples looking for exactly.
