My website currently acts as a landing page of sorts...right now I am manually linking people to it (need to get on that organic traffic wave) but that's besides the point I guess.

Would you say that an SSL Ceritifed website with the "Secure" tag/"Trusted" green bar in the URL would increase conversions? I did some facebook advertising and of the 220 clicks to my site I had no sales (tiny sample size I know, but I can't help but think something like the SSL Ceritifcate would have made a difference).

Is it worth the price? I see godaddy has it for like 5 bucks the first year but they hit you with a renewal of like 80 bucks after that.

You can get cloudflare flexible SSL or Letsencrypt SSL for free. It does improve conversions like anything else that makes your site look trustworthy.

do they give you the "Secure" or "Trusted" tab in the URL?

Yes, it says Secure with the green padlock (https://i.imgur.com/d853kTJ.png). It doesn't give you the business name though, like for example Paypal (https://i.imgur.com/O1iQvMJ.png)

it doesn't help ranking from what I have experienced. however, I switched all my sites to https just to get an edge over my competitors.

Use Cloudflare FREE flexible SSL or Let's Encrypt 's FREE SSL
