False. It only takes one plugin to bring a site to it's knees. I'm running, on average, over fourty plugins per site and I'm getting sub-1 second load times from users within a 5000 mile radius of the VPS. This is a 1CPU/768MB/SSD(450MB/s write) VPS by the way.

Any idiot knows this.

If you are using dedicad server using plugins and themes that weight will not make your site slow.

Try reducing all plugins that you don't absolutely need. Many plugins are just used out of sheer laziness.
Also reduce image size and try using a good cache plugin - WP Faster Cache is one that I currently use and recommend..

Hello friend. What I know is that when we have a website with images that are loaded directly or even vidoes, then you will for sure experience a slow connection. In that case, you need to make sure that all the videos are passed by reference. You can also resize bthe images that you are using. Be sure to also check the uptime of the hosting service provider so that you know where the problem is exactly.

Add some good plugins like SmushIt, W3 Cache etc, and dont forget to remove unused and useless plugins. Most of the plugins suck up your server.
Use a clean, premium theme.
