Making a video go viral?

Just looking for advice on making a video go viral.. Like... say for example.. there's some BIG news story coming out.. and it's bound to be viral.. and I could upload it first before anyone else, but then like the next day someone bigger uploads the exact same video and it's viral.

Is there anyway I can fight this? Like I know sharing to as much people as possible is important. But not sure where else to go.. Like right now, sub reddits seems to be doing pretty good for me. Was trying to post to a couple Facebook groups but got my (fake) account banned. Trying to make other fake ones, but keep getting rejected by the groups.

Anyways, any tips for try to fight this? I get the sense that in order for something to go viral, the right person has to see your video and share it. But how else do you get it to the right person?

Hey! This might be late for you, but I have a little bit of an insight on this...

If you have a subject that you can create a video about, that you KNOW will get a ton of searches..

- First of all, be one of the FIRST to make that video!
- Second, you will want to optimize the SHIT out of it. Make sure your video FILE is also named with your keywords (example: "keyword_keyword1_keyword_keyword.mp4")
- Optimize your TITLE (include target keywords, most important ones near the front)
- Write a good length DESCRIPTION (think of it as a small article on your subject, I usually do 2-3 paragraphs). This is where you can include sentences from articles already written on the subject.
- Get your TAGS sorted out good. Use tools like "vidiq vision for youtube" and "tubebuddy" to help with this.
- PUBLISH THAT SHIT
- Write a blog post featuring your video, make an article around it.
- Post your video to targeted subreddits.
- Post your blog/article to a news subreddit.
- Help your reddit upvotes.
- Optimize your tags. If you've done everything well, and posted within 2-4 hours of the event, you should be getting a good stream of views. I've made 2 videos like this in the last couple months. One got 60k the other 40k over a couple of days

Thanks for the info It still seems a bit tricky though. I think the main reason is because the videos I'm publishing are not things people are "searching" for, but if they see it, they want to watch.

I try to do everything that you mentioned there, being the first to upload the video, and I have some videos I actually got like 1500 upvotes on reddit for. But then the very next day, one of my bigger competitors can come on and upload the exact same video and they end up getting like 500,000 views when I'm stuck at 10k or 15k at the most (on a lucky day).

I think what it boils down to is that I just need a bigger audience (more subscribers), and that it's going to be a long grind.

You can also try to make your video popular by doing comment posting on other high ranked videos in same niche. Other than that frst like and share your own video before others do that for you. There are number of social media platforms you can use to promote your video. So you do not need to stick to Facebook only.

Will the use of bots be safe? I have read many people saying that the use of bots is not the safe approach so I have always avoided the use of bots.

the videos I'm publishing are not things people are "searching" for, but if they see it, they want to watch.

Reverse engineer it, research what people are searching for and post videos related.

I am in the same boat as you, man!! I have a lot of highly original yet entertaining content, that people aren't necessarily searching for, but that they want to watch once they start.

More of my own advice:

- DO NOT use bots. Stay away from them. Google WILL find out, and you don't want ANY tarnished reputation. I had to restart from scratch after google caught me clicknig my own ads once, and that account was deactivated on monetization for EVER. (I'm sticking with this point until proven otherwise..)
- DO diversify your content. When we are small, we need to meet someone's needs first, before they will care enough about us. See what kind of videos you can make that will pull in viewers.
- BUILDING AN AUDIENCE is definitely a long-haul process, which I'm in for also.
- 10-15k in one day is pretty awesome! Better than any of my usual uploads (1-2k/day)

I would STAY AWAY from bots, if you want to be a long term channel, and grow a legitimate audience.

If you just want to make a video go viral in the current environment, use all of the tools are your disposal..
