To a random person from 40 years ago:
In my pocket i have a device that can access an incredibly mind-numbing amount of information, with it i can make money, learn about virtually any subject or learn a new language, and even video call with any anyone on the other side of the planet almost instantaneously. with this device i have 40,000+ followers on social media who i can spread any message i want too for free (in reality about 10k-25k people will actually see that message)
So what do i do with that device?
I post pictures of neat cars to thousands of people, usually while im having a poop.
I look at cute cats, comment on cool cars and ogle at models selling some tea or organic snack that 'helps' you lose weight.
If I showed what my phone could do to someone 40+ years ago, it would have blown them away.
if i told them what i did with that incredible device, would they understand? or scream in anger for wasting the potential of such an an incredible feat of technology.
would a person from 40 years ago fathom why i would rather drive in a car from their era than one from mine that is 100x safer, has climate control and could drive itself?
ok, that's my weekly moment of rambling done.
...hey you are still reading this, why?
Stop reading.
Seriously stop it.
