How to search for Competitor PBN

Hey chaps,

I have recently come across a competitor site that is being ranked for just one page. Semeush shows no backlinks. But googling the domain name shows some crappy pbns backlining (about 3/4).

Any idea how I can find other backlinks?

My website content is much much better and I'd like to kick this guys ass

You can't check pbns if they blocked crawlers. Check with ahrefs and semrush.

Also try megaindex. Alot of people don't block it I think.

Same thing I just said recently in another thread. Did you try entering in Google:

links:domainname.com

??

Replace "domainname.com" with the URL of the site you're looking at. They won't block Google, so Google will display some (not all) of the sites that link to your domain of interest. You might find a few interesting backlinks with this method.

Not sure who that's directed at. If you're talking about the "links:domainname.com" method that isn't the case at all. That shows all kinds of URLs with backlinks to the site. Not just brand or naked anchors.

try type intext:yourwebsite.com and you will see many domains or try "intext:yourwebsite.com"

How many sites do you have in your PBN? If just a few, then yeah, maybe you won't see any. Google doesn't display every URL with a backlink to the domainname.com you entered. I've got a site with about 40 PBNs pointing to it, and when I do a "links:domainname.com" about 5 of them show up.

We all know, we can block that type of bots, by using robots.txt that can easily block the crawlers of popular backlink analysis tools, This would stop links from showing in nearly all backlink checking tools on the market. So no backlinks are shown to your competitor.

The links: operator in Google was broken from the very beginning and never really showed anything useful. As others said, either intext: or a plain "example.com"/"example" search do the job much better when brand or URL links are used. You could also try to use some less known web based backlink checkers. They are inferior to tools like ahrefs, majestic and so on, but they are less known and rarely blocked by PBN owners.

Always keep in mind: Karma can be a bitch. Starting the "I report you and you report me" game often ends up ugly with only Google being the winner. So, outranking your competitiors instead of reporting them is certainly a better way.

As far as "best content" is concerned: Almost everybody claims to have the best content, because people tend to be emotionally attached to their sites. Doesn't mean visitors think the same way. No offense, but at the end of the day, good content is what people searching for something like, not necessarily what you like.

Under no circumstances would I bother reporting this guy. It just seems that it's a low competitive keyword and they have a few crappy pbn links (I haven't checked the methods above, but will later, maybe he has more links?)

In terms of content, mine is definitely better. His site is literally one page, with a 300 word article. My site has very few backlinks (<10), but has around 200 pages all with 500+ words. In terms of content, my site is like a book, his site is like a leaflet. The keyword I'm targeting has a dedicated page that ranks #7 with zero backlinks. I'm sure with a small PBN of my own, I can rank this higher.
