you can go to tradingview and back test your system as far as you want man@DFWi Reaper and @primeCS
I'm so glad to find this thread...I paper traded stocks for a year and did exceptionally well. I have my own system I developed from reading books and analyzing human behavior in the markets but besides papertrading, I haven't been able to backtest this system over a few years becos i dont know how...not a coder and i dont know any tools that can help...my system is built around price/volume data - simple support and resistance....can u pls help me on how I can backtest this system? If possible, for free?
Or what coding language do I have to learn in order to develop my own bot to test this system and trade with this system? Thanks very much
[/QUOTE]SO many to respond to, lets give this a whirl
1) I've backtested four years, with multiple settings. Some settings did better than others for certain markets (and I have different settings for different market types). I dont personally believe very strongly in huge backtests. Because not every strategy works for each market. You have to always be changing, updating, and moving with the times. Just IMHO.
2) Are we talking equity drawdown or balance drawdown (some people refer to them differently).
I haveIt's used in technical analysis trading. Well by some people at least. The way I learned it was implemented as a trend guide.
I will send you a PM on here

No one makes $1k a day? In Forex or anything? Because in my friend circle, granted a small one, half the people bring in 7 figures a year....
I've personally never studied stocks, so I'm not sure how auto-trading works with them? I feel there are many variables that could be pinpointed, but a lot more goes into a stock than just numbers. There's significantly more human interaction that affects stocks in my opinion. I would try and find someone that codes stock systems. I found one for forex, and they have helped me along the way. I dont actually code myself unfortunately.
Thanks mate![]()
How much did the bot cost? How does it work?

Good luck mate!
i learned a little bit more about forex as well.. but i stuck with stocks because i like the idea of investing in companies....ultimately tho i think tech analysis is the same all over....same principles apply in the markets ...fear and greed....i believe thats what drives every market...i might be wrong tho but thats what my system is built around....thats why i need to test over a couple of years. please can u link me with the forex guy you have...maybe he might be able to code soemthing for me for stocks or maybe point me in the right direction./ thanks
Best of luck!!!
THanksThis was extremely interesting! Really wish you well! Hope you figured out how to break the system
Will be following for sure, good luck!
It's looking good but the problem is your already very high Draw down. You can't increase risk, i've been developing an Quant also on forex, it's doing about 0.2% a day with 3% DD so i can increase risk and still be low DD. Never give up and you will find success.
Hi Op! Great journey. Will be sure to follow along.
Following also, keep this updated and can u please PM me for me to follow your trades?
It will be more amaze us if you can also provide a video so we can see it in live action.
Great stuff here and thanks for sharing. I would like to know more about your mindset and how many hours a day on average do you spend on this? Like do you balance this out by having hobbies and a normal life or are your working pretty much every waking hour of your day towards this business? Like is there such thing as a 'balanced' approach towards making money or starting a new business? Thx!
Also interested. Send me a pm with more info if you have time![]()
