Hey guys, had a question about a YouTube video I have monetized. This video has about 70 thousand views and it was posted about two weeks ago. I'm not sure if this video is getting botted views or what, but it started snowballing and growing very fast. The earnings statement says I have $50 earned from the video so far not including yesterday. I also checked analytics and the traffic is spaced out between devices pretty well and isn't coming from mainly desktop so it leads me to believe I'm not getting botted Views. I also checked video view sources and it says most of them is coming from suggested videos. This all shows I'm not getting botted views to my video, but at the same time this video has pretty low engagement, at about .1% and has 700 - 800 views per hour, this hs kept increasing the past few days, the ranking is also bouncing for this video. The views have increased but the ranking for tags seems to be messed up or something, on vidiq it says none of the tags are ranking and I'm confused. What are your thoughts? Would be greatly appreciated!

Usually vidIQ's tags score takes longer time to update the ranking (aka tags performance), and if you have a good actionable (>=40) you shouldn't be worried about ranking as long as you're still receiving traffic to your video.

Yes my actionable is a 42.4 and I'm relieving lots of traffic, around 700 per hour now. Do you think everything here checks out? I got about 50 likes / dislikes total. And what is the "actionable" stats purpose? / meaning exactly.

Low/High engagement depends on your niche, some niches tend to have more engaging viewer especially US niches, and your video engagements affect the ranking too because I've notice that the best ranking vids have higher engagements count in most cases. About the actionable score, it helps you to figure out how good you placed your tags, I think it's necessary to keep that score higher than 40.

Yes this is quite weird, my tags and keywords were ranking, my video explodes with views through suggested and due to low engagement it loses its ranking position on search. Niche is funny compilation, along those lines. Adsense says I earned the money, should I be concerned?

Youtube suggested is not related to ranking of tags or keyword due to that you might be getting that in VidIQ. But I think everything should be okay with you and even if someone is sending botted views no need to worry as that will not damage you.

Alright thank you I appreciate your reply very much :) What is suggested dependent upon?

suggested vids dependent upon viewers liking same videos etc

I doubted that, Funny videos is a high competition niche, that being said you can't rank for popular keywords in that niche with a low subscribers channel and less consistent upload, but in your case I developed my own strategy to grow a channel in high competition niches using my tool that I coded lately, if you want to know more about my strategy and maybe try it just send me a PM with your skype.

Doubt what?

that you're trying to rank in a high competition niche.
Why would you doubt that I am trying to rank in a high competition niche? Main keyword is 90 difficulty on vidiq and I've ranked number 8 for it.

what's your vidIQ's video score? and about vidIQ I reversed their chrome extension just to see how they are calculating their number, it was obfuscated AF but eventually I found how they're getting the stats. So according to my analysis, all the stats are calculated from the actual youtube page excluding the volume, competition score which are given by their Data API and their data isn't updated very often that's why keyword's score isn't changing throughout the day not like the rest of stats.
