Paypal - Hiding Your Identity?

Like most of you, I have a Paypal account that I want to protect. On the other hand, there are a lot of things that I need to do online which potentially force me to expose my identity...which isn't always a good thing! So I guess my question to the group is, what methods are you using to accept Paypal/CC purchases and not reveal who you are? Multiple accounts? Upgrades to your personal account?

All I really want to do is accept a payment on mydomain.com and have the receipt be generic like John Doe, thanks[at]mydomain.com and then be able to send the money in that account wherever I need to cash it out. And of course, do this across multiple sites without linking them together.

all you need is a bank account and email address, get a free checking account and setup a new account with a gmail account... as far as i can tell that should do the trick...

i have several accounts setup this way one for main business, one for personal one for ebay purchases or dodgy online purchases to people i dont know... only thing is it costs you to money to pass money across paypal accounts...

The issue that I have though is that I want to sell things so I need either multiple accounts or multiple email addresses tied to one account. Of course I could use your method to create a new account and then upgrade. The main problem I have with that though is setting up the bank account. It is a big process here in Canada since there are only a few banks to choose from.

i have a business paypal account. With it, you can choose a nickname to be displayed as your "real" name. You can change that nickname easily. I use something general,-like "confidential". This way, on the receipt the buyer sees: money coming from "confidential". Very clever.

but is your true identity stored in paypal database or did you just register your paypal account as business name? I thought you would want anonymity incase paypal database gets hacked (as it has before several times) and your personal info is suddenly for sale on the net.
If that's what you want you need to open a anonymous bank account. By that it doesn't mean you can open with no id and documents just that the bank issuer is keeping all that private and not exposed to paypal etc..

you can just use a fake name, then get a bank account at any bank under any name and add it to the paypal account (this works in any country ) - they say it has to be your account, but trust me it doesen't - i've done this many many times. All my fake accounts are on my real named bank accounts at the same bank branch and i see them all in my online banking (im with royal bank btw). So theres no need to transfer from paypal to paypal, just withdraw straight to the bank account.

also, to get verified, go to any mac's convenience or shell gas station and get one of the gift card credit cards, put your fake name on it with whatever address and phone number you used, then add it to paypal and you are verified.

this method is not good for making new accounts after a suspension though if anyone is trying that, as for that you'd need a new physical address, ip, phone, email along with whats already done.

Are you saying you opened royal bank account in a fake name? How did you do that? Don't they ask for id? Or you got those made fake too?
I thought in order to successfully withdraw your paypal funds I thought the bank recipient had to be the same name as the paypal account. Are you saying it does not and paypal has no way of knowing who a bank account number belongs to?

You lost me on the last paragraph. You said something about new account can't use gift cards? Please clarify your last paragraph because it is confusing.

lol no way in hell would i open a fake bank account, you'd have the fbi up your ass faster than you can walk out of the branch. the bank account is in my real name, all the paypal accounts have fake names, but have my real named bank accounts attached to them. - yes paypal has no way of knowing whos bank account you add to it.

you can use gift cards thats the only way to verify the fake account... get them from Mac's convenience or shell stations.

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering if you can help me with a limited account.
I had my paypal account limited now almost 3 years in total. The first time limit happened about 2 years ago and after 6 months the limit continued but they send me an email saying I could now withdraw my funds to bank. I didn't send them any documents nor do the phone confirmation. So anyway I added a VMI bank initiated the bank withdraw and the account with 750 bucks went into even more limitation asking for more stuff now and no bank withdraw off course. Well another 7 months have passed again but I did not get any emails this time saying I can now withdraw funds and when I login I don't see any option to withdraw. I should mention however that my credit card on file is expired and they know that. Is this why I don't see withdraw option or I really can't withdraw anymore until I remove the limits. I thought there is a 180 day freezing of funds everytime there is a limitation. If you can't unlimit your account they let you withdraw your funds after 180 days. Any idea here? Btw, when i created the account i has a legit us address and company but since I am no longer there so i cannot submit, bill, proof of address, phone etc.. that they ask.

are you talking about changing the business name?

another way that i use to use different identities is to set up another user in the multi-user access section. just give the new user full access to your account. this way you can have multiple identities under one account.

Their systems are f-ed up. I have accounts that get reinstated and still have the suspension message for months on end, so im guessing they have to do something manually.

So I need to add another debit card i can get through the net cause i am in brazil and not in canada or usa. I`m a canuck also btw. So I was thinking etrade cause its free, legit but it takes 2 weeks to open from here. I have a another never used VMI card and while I hear VMI is now ok after they changed banks I really don`t feel like risking going into the 180 day freeze again. So what do you recommend? Have you heard of xoom? Can i withdraw to xoom bank account and then they send to me?

i havent tried xoom or vmi or something, i know etrade works.
but dont worry you wont get another 180 day limitation on this account ever again, so you can add and test whatever you want. the 180 day limitation is there to cover any chargebacks that might happen during that time to your account. after 180, the money is yours.

That`s very interesting. So you`re saying they can only give a user the 180 day limitation once in the life of the account per their TOS?
They certainly limited my account more then once with this money in there.
I was thinking of adding another VMI card/account since there is a good chance it will work and I can do it immediately. But if they feel VMI is used for scamming or whatever they want to think, they won`t disaprove the withdraw this time?
Sorry, I know i`m asking you to repeat yourself but I really need this money quickly.

Oh and in regards to etrade, do they require utility bill or just ID? Will a canadian citizenship card do?
