I've been in the hospital for two days. I just got out today. The staff was overjoyed to be sending me home on Christmas. I just wanted to go home.

Anyway, I went in there for an entirely different thing, but while I was in there they swabbed my nose to check for MRSA. Turns out I have it. In my nose.

Yep. I have a superbug in my nose.

It's JUST in my nose. It's not in my blood or on my skin. It's just in my nose.

So for the next 10 days, I have to put this ointment in both of my nostrils twice a day.

One of the weird side effects is the ointment makes my nose itch. So I'm constantly digging in my nose like a little kid. Except I won't eat my boogers because I don't want to digest MRSA and get it into my bloodstream.

Anyway I did some research and it turns out MRSA is pretty common. They said one third of people probably have it in their nose. I think that's a weird place for a staph infection to hang out but it could be worse. It could be in my batcave.

Here's some more info about it if any of you are curious and find bacteria fascinating like I do:

Lucky you went in and they found it. Hope you get well soon.

Glad the infection isn't spread. Get well soon!

Me too. When they told me I was like "Wtf? Why is it in my nose?!" They couldn't even answer me. Professionally trained medical staff have no idea how it got there. Makes me super confident.

Anyway, thanks. :)

is that a news?

Nope. Just wanted you to know a little bit about who I am.

I'm scared now, please tell me a story.

I can tell you the story of The Little Staph Infection that Could.

Glad your okay as it could have been deadly. I know it sucks having this on Xmas but glad your healthy and God bless.

It doesn't really bother me. I'm just surprised I have it. I am a pretty healthy person overall - except I'm nuttier than a Planters factory. But physically I'm fine.

However I am prone to getting viruses. I actually got swine flu during that epidemic. I was asleep for 18 hours a day for two weeks. They couldn't treat me bc my immune system didn't respond to anything they gave me.

My immune system is awesome like that.

Anyway, thanks.

Its bug ? hope you are good now.

It's a super bug. That means it's resistant to nearly all forms of antibacterial treatment. And it is constantly evolving. So as soon as they find a way to get rid of it, it evolves and becomes resistant to that treatment. Then they have to find another one.

I' m fine. I have no symptoms, which is why I' surprised that I had it.

Lucky you went in and they found it. Hope you get well soon.

Thanks. I should get over it soon. I probably never would have discovered it if I hadn't.

Get well soon :)

Thank you hon.

Lmao you jackass.

You Asshole

I thought it was funny, even if it's a little gross.

Hey man at least it's not on your dick.

I don't have a dick but I get what you were trying to say. A staph infection anywhere near that area would be hell. Imagine the ointment for that. :D
