What should be done first in order to start a successful website?

I have searched info on internet marketing but currently is has me on information overload and stuck on what to do next.
As of now I have a running website made with WordPress but zero content and zero traffic. Basically brand new.
I have been thinking about hiring a professional s.e.o content writer but have felt a little sketchy about it. (Trust issues)

What are the ways you started and what would you change if you could start over?
Any advice is really appreciated. Thank.

You have to email them, engage with them on social media.

I'm talking about the hotshots in your niche. People with large followings in your niche. Get to know them and provide value to them. Then when the time comes they can help you bring your product or service to the masses.

Forget about easy mode progress like you had in school, where everyone can pass, and where everything is spoonfed and dots are drawn, leaving u only to connect them. You should feel confused, as everyone here felt confused when started. Knowledge here is wide and in mesh structure. Your head will hurt for a while - few days if you are smart, 1 month if ur average.
rule no 2 : IM is not easy. Viral and snowballing - forget those. You need to be psychology,sociology, and IT expert to make viral stuff consistently. Not gonna happen any time soon for you.
rule no 3 : u must be patient. If you are not ready to work 1-2 month with 0 IM earnings, quit now.

Thanks, Your rule #2 is actually something that I tend to think about, the psychology and sociology of myself and others and how I can use them together to engage a visitor.

Little tips about viral :
- hit visitor emotions, abuse them . Kitten videos, baby videos, funny videos. They stimulate visitors. Why? because they either make us feel good and happy (aww cute kitten), or identify with acts of kindness for example - people helping beggars. Even if we did shit to help that particular beggar, we feel emotion transfer (emphaty) , similar how we hate shame transfers in TV shows - when particular actor embarras himself on screen we want to pause or skip that part.
- make brain attention ping ( wierd unique shit that you don't see every day). Brain attention ping is happening because brain loves to learn from new situations, and its instinctively perceived as worthy XP. WTF indeed. It can include various stupid prank videos too. Fat guy sticking firecrackers on himself. Damn even i click on those to see whats gonna happen. Wierd science videos? Absolutely

update and maybe buy some traffic in the start and alot of social media but dont use direct link make it as a watermark on photo if you have a short name... and depending on places u can put link, if its your moneysite or a site u can spam that links to your moneysite then vuy scrapebox blasts and GSA and some real live traffic, also i have seen facebook groups helps but paid comercial i have one group it have 60.000 that grow by itself, i bought the first 10.000 the rest came by it self and its growing now by itself around 25-100 per day...and i dont even promote it anymore

If you have the site set up that assumes you have a niche and keywords. Get some content up! For cheap content ive used ContentPundits a lot - they have a thread in the marketplace.

Scrapebox and GSA u find here so u can read about them, they build backlinks and then buy traffic there are many places, and u find the best placs here also if u look around.
Allways read on bhw everyday and learn, this is what i have done during the last 8 years or so, im selftought and now have my own products and around 35 websites and have passive income around 3000$ per month... i only update my webpages 1-2 times per week, and some sites they get updated by them self by new members i only have free sites and get my money from popups.... but read read and read again.... ask anybody here and they will say both scrapebox and GSA are some of the best tools to use... then to buy traffic well u find it here, but i dont buy anymore so i can not say witch is best, here are VIPs that knows that better then me...Good Luck and Merry Cristmas

I also said update all the time, if there is no content offcourse no one will come... he have to update it with content.

I originally wanted the site to be a "Deals and coupons" site, but i have recently changed my mind to make it into a much more broader site that would allow me to target different industries and searches. I guess I should just get my first piece of content on their asap.

Im not trying to be an a***ole here, Im just being honest. You have a site with no content and no traffic and your worried where to start. Do something, do anything.

When I get overwhelmed I tend to do nothing. Taking massive action is the best thing.

You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

Let me say it stronger.

You DON'T have to be great to start, but you have to START to be great.

Most people, myself in my past included (and sometimes now when I get caught up) make a plan like this:

1.) Get all my ducks in a row
2.) Start doing something
3.) Succeed

Except most people never get past step 1 and so they fail and then ask them self bad questions, and then say "well I knew that was going to fail, this stuff never works"


Here is a better plan

1.) Get a rifle and shoot the ducks
2.) Do a bunch of stuff for a predetermined amount of time, just do anything that needs done
3) When you reach that time limit, stop, measure, adjust course

Sometimes its good to foul it up, because Experience comes from Good Judgement, Good Judgement comes from making mistakes.
