Guys, I Need Some Inspiration.

So things in IM have been horrible for me lately. I still have yet to make a good living off of anything I've accomplished so far, my Paypal was hacked and I lost a large chunk of my startup fund, and my split-testing hasn't been efficient. I got a loan from a friend so I have about 30-60 days before I absolutely need to go get a real job (which isn't the end of the world, but isn't optimal).

I don't want to get stuck in the 9 to 5, that sounds like a nightmare to me. I have over 100 accounts on Instagram and my efforts have just been fruitless so far. No conversions, no money, no anything. Just consistency and steady traffic for all 100. I need to make it soon otherwise I'll have to get a normal job and getting back into IM will be harder than ever.

I need some inspiration. Can you guys share the hard times you've been through, and the success stories that followed later on? That'd really help me right now.

That is so spot on. I say this to everyone who says why do you do what you do. And I say the thought of maybe having a bad week earning wise far outweighs the thought of getting a "real" job. I actually can't remember when I did a proper days work as it's all just for me. This isn't work.

I totally agree. After I come back from my shitty job, I'm more motivated then ever. The whole time I'm at work I'm just thinking how I can't wait to leave that hell hole.

No he is right. Heres a little bit of my story, i'm 5ft 2. Early 20s. In the US. I have an international background, have travelled the world. You know how fucking judgmental people are towards someone my size? worked at many large companies, up at 6am at work on time, never stopped or complained about work to anyone, always kicked ass, did everything on time and to the best degree possible, i'd receive emails of 'thanks' and 'great work' from company higher ups etc, but never a sign of promotion or a raise. And coworkers even bosses would treat me like a "kid" and always pass on overloaded work on to me.

I knew it wasnt worth complaining about to anyone and it wouldnt change anything. And i truly dont believe i should have asked anyone for a raise, a raise or promotion should come naturally, it shouldnt be asked for. However i'd always be passed on and a new employee or some shithead would get the promotion.

I had 2 months of living saved up. I quit, made wordpress sites for small mom and pop shops in the area, did amazon affiliate marketing, physically would go to the local community college and "sell" instagram likes/followers for 5-10$. Made 35-50 a day some days. Now i uber 2-4 hours some days, do amazon affiliate, "resell" logos, "resell" essays etc.

The other day i saw one of my old bosses, he says "hey mini me long time no see, what are you doing these days?" - to which i replied "doing your wife, she didnt tell you?" - he was lost for words. I'm not making a killing (not yet), but the feeling of being able to make a living without having to depend on anyone else is just something else.

Main thing is dont live beyond your means. The thought of going back to a normal job scares the shit out of me. Keep your head up, and if one method doesnt work, then try it again in a different way, be creative. i see too many people try the exact same thing over and over again hoping the next time is going to be different. And i believe theres a quote about that which i cant remember right now.

Anyways, sorry for the long post. Hope it helps someone.

Really Noah, this is exactly what inspired me to start a business.

Before this, I worked in retail and I had people walking all over me; they may as well have used my face as a floor mat to wipe their mud-covered, urine soaked shoes on. Customers were rude to me and treated me like a personal servant, with one memorable customer in particular who had the audacity to ask my boss to tell me to clean one of the stalls thoroughly and mop the floors with his favourite brand of Fabuloso, all while he watched (they made me do it). Even some of the supervisors were pricks who would slam the doors in my face as I was walking through them, and get this, this wasn't even the worst on it.

As soon as I quit that job, I started looking into alternative solutions for income (affiliate marketing blah blah you can read my bio on my profile page), but that experience at my old job was potent fuel to keep me going for a thousand and one years. Screw retail.

Now, I remember your "problems", and I understand why you would think intentionally getting a piss poor job isn't an option for you. Heck, if you remember, I have a similar issue, so I understand it better than most people here. But sometimes, I think it's beneficial to go way outside of your comfort zone; to see how bad you could have it, and how much worse it can get.

Yeah starting a business didn't solve all of my problems; I still have bad days every now and then and I'm not filthy rich, but at least I make a lot more in less time than I did at that crappy job.

One last thing: other people's stories will only temporarily motivate you. You need to find something to motivate yourself.

You may think this sounds trolly, but this man is completely right.

Seriously though. I believe many people think they will find one thing that will make them rich. From talking with people that are independent, I found most people make a business, work it up to making a few bucks and then create another one. With 500 businesses all making $1 a day, you will have A BAGILLION DOLLARS (read as $500) a day.

Do you really think you can't make one business that can make $1 a day? (please remember to average)

Why are you sending 100 accounts in to one niche? The first step you should be spreading the accounts out to multiple niches in order to figure out which one works best with you and then expand that niche.

Find an image of something really nice you want to own ( a new AMG Merc as an example ) or a stunning place you want to live.
Save it as a screensaver and use that as your motivation.

why not Shopify and drop shipping, setup an e-commerce store and sell via FB ads, as now you know Instagram you can use it too,

and that is the bad side if you have your own business, you should keep going and never stop when you have bad times...
