I dont want to destroy your dreams, but youre not building a authority site, that would take years. What you are doing is creating a Bunker site which works fine with google these days.

Semantics... One man's castle is another man's dump. It's the biggest site I have ever worked on either way.

How will you write 2k articles in 3 months? Not trying to be negative but do you really need that many pages? I'm not sure if it makes sense to write 2000 articles on something unless you are already churning out a profit. All that work and what if it doesn't work out. I'd encourage you to think of this practically and bring your site down to 100 pages and monetize it first to see if it is worth your while to put in so much time and effort.

I'm glad you brought this up. I didn't do a good job of explaining myself.

Within 3 months I plan on having the site functional. Customers will be able to find what they need and place their order.

To be functional, the following pages must be completed, along with the payment gateway: Home (1 page), Silos (20 pages), Categories (200 pages). So for the site to be functional I need to complete 221 very high quality/lengthy pages. I am giving myself 3 months to make that happen, working a minimum of 20 hours a week on it (goodbye TV time).

I am then setting my goal of having the remaining 2k support articles completed within the following 9 months.

My ultimate goal is to have every static page finished in a year.

Does that make sense?

As far as the site being profitable, I have spent the last 9 months executing this to a smaller degree. It is extremely profitable.

Update #1

It's been about a week, so this will be my first update. I'll try to be brief.

I finished the site design. It looks good. I have some tweaking to do here and there, but I'm happy with it. I will eventually need to hire someone with some help on graphics too, but I will consider the design as being done for now.

I finished the home page. It came in at just shy of 8k words. As far as I'm concerned, it's a masterpiece. I have never written a page that is this long. I didn't plan on it being so long, but it is what it is. There is no way that a customer could come to this page and not want to open their checkbook. We'll see soon enough.

I completed 2 of the silo pages. Each of them are just over 3k words. Again, they are longer than I was expecting, but that's fine. I'm very proud of them.

The goal for me is to have all of the silo pages completed before my next update here. After that I will start making all of the category pages. And then after that it's the nightmare of all of the supporting articles.



Things to remember:

1- Write naturally. Write like I am helping a friend.
2- Stay on track. Do some work on the site every day, even if it's just for a few minutes.
3- Spend 90% of my online time working on the site.
4- Have fun with this.

Well I am kind of known as a storyteller. It gets on my family's nerves, but I love telling really long stories. My favorite story (that my wife and kids will walk out of the room on if they hear me starting it) takes about 15 minutes and it ends with absolutely no point. It cracks me up because everyone listening is waiting for this huge punchline, but it ends with nothing. So fun.

But here is what I do:

What is the primary focus of my page (keyword)?

What major topics (related keywords) does the page need to cover?

I start with an introduction that fully covers the focus of the page and leads into the topics that we will cover.

I then break each topic down completely. I usually add a personal story into each one to relate to the visitors and give them an example that helps to make sense of it.

I wrap it up by tying all of the knots (topics) together and showing how we fully explained the primary focus of the page. Of course, the solution to every issue examined is handing me a little bit of money.

Does that make sense?

I'm basically writing as if my brother asked me for some help. I could give him a one paragraph answer, but since he's my brother I will make sure that he can not possibly read everything and not "get it".

Another example would be:

Big Problem>Little Problems>Solutions To Little Problems>Solution To Big Problem ($ to me)

Idk... I'm not a guru at it, but it's kind of fun to write a books when you really know the topic better than almost anyone.
