How Do You Estimate Time & Cost For Content Writing?

HI guys

I've been working in Digital Marketing for around 5 years - but have never really freelanced.

I have someone who is wanting the content written for 50 category pages on his ecommerce website (its a site that has not gone live yet).

Im thinking around 30 minutes per page (so my final proposal would clock in at 25 hours) which includes:
Keyword Research
Category Content Written
Interlinking To Other Pages
Meta Title
Meta Description

How does that sound - too long/too short? How would you estimate your time for a project like this?

I'd settle for one article a week if it was edgy enough to win lots of clicks and generate shares. So I guess it all depends on what your goals are and where you set the quality thresholds. The question is "does the article produce the desired outcome?" if so you can always find ways to do them faster. If not then you are kind of back to the drawing board.

Depends on how long the content is, how much research time you need to put in etc.

Don't sell hourly, sell it per page. If you have to do hourly, round up to an hour per page because you never know how difficult the subject may be and it's better to overestimate than put yourself between a rock and a hard place. I recommend $50 - $100 per page depending on the hourly rate of your writer, or how much you pay yourself if you are writing it yourself.

30 minutes per page? You must be a hell fast writer to do all the writing + the research, linking, title, meta desc.

How much content are we talking about by the way ? Cause if that's 200 words, then yea I get it.
