Nope, earth is never proven to be flat at all, but it is proven to be round for hundreds of years, first proof was back in in 6th century. Look it up.

The same way you can generate "proof" to support your claims one can also generate "proof" for the other side. Both sides have winning arguments. Just like politics.
Im not interested in "proof" for either side tho, I just want to go to space for myself and find out first hand.
Or maybe someone could just fly over the south pole...oh wait, the government has it on lock down. A big land of ice full of nothing is under military surveillance and the only person to venture there made some big claims when he came back.

It's sad that recently there has been a huge rise in anti-intellectualism. I have a feeling that it is just another side effect of the mental scars from the Global Recession. There are many threads on BHW filled with all sorts of rhetoric about how college is bad to go to.

I'm not against college, the only thing I'm against is how colleges/universities don't encourage their students to SEARCH ON THEIR OWN. I've been in two universities and in both of them I was only told to learn this and that or else I wouldn't have a job after graduating... Sure, there are professors that actually encourage their students to go on their own but they are the least.
Anyway, just my humble opinion

Reading through some of the comments here and seeing this video I'm feeling like I should create an online shop selling flat models of the earth.
@asap1 Do you only trust things you've seen yourself? Don't you put weight on other people's arguments? There's so much proof out there that the earth isn't flat that it's hard for me to see how you can say you equally believe that both might be true or not.

Everyone wants to be special. And uncovering a secret government operation that covers up that the earth is flat is so special. They feel like investigative geniuses.
However, all they did was watch a couple of YouTube Videos from other people who want to be special. Think about it, this so incredible oppressive government was unable to control a few YouTube Videos and you could find out the truth. Wow.
I don't even know who those people believing in this stuff are kidding but themselves. But at least their petty lives are more exciting after watching this video.
