Looking for ORM help in driving down negative resuts on my name

So had a bit of a bad friend break up (she was a bit savage, I was 2 bits of savage right back) and she wrote a blog post (Wordpress) that comes up in the first 5 results for my name.

Looking for a service that would help drive it down before launching my website as a freelancer (what exactly that would be I'm not sure as a Newbie and because ORM isn't a Marketplace category) not really concerned as far as what shows in it's place but my LinkedIn and other social accounts aren't ranking as results because of the post.

You can either do seo your self to outrank it. Or you can hire seo, preferably someone who specializes in ORM

Depending on the difficulty and being inexperienced, I would concur with @makistoj. If it's #4 or #5 it should be pretty easy, #1 or 2 I'd need to look to gauge difficulty.

Not suggestion a solution for your problem, but have you thought of "asking your friends" to comment on that negative blog commenting that even though the story is negative, they all had very positive experiences and this example might have been a "one-off"? It does not solve your problem but it might make it a little less damaging...

When I was first dabbling in ORM I made a fake profile, amped it up and let it marinade for a while, then put up a negative article on a blog all by itself and it was ranking mid page one pretty fast for the fake guy's name. I used that opportunity to test things out to know in advance what kind of things worked and what kind of things didn't for my potential future clients.

I suggest don't do what @peterhuko is suggesting. This may cause an increase in rankings for the article, as there will be new indexable content. At least, in my experiences, this is generally the case.

I might be wrong because this isn't my field of expertise but I don't think that like 2 reassuring posts would increase the ranking all that dramatically but would "buy" him a little more credibility

Like @Sherbert Hoover I also would not suggest publishing more content onto the negative page. Google loves pages with content and giving this page more content will likely make the whole problem more difficult.

A single negative is all most people need to start thinking, "maybe I'll be like that one negative". Having 2 positives and 1 negative won't do much IMO. Suppression or removal is the only way to buy credibility when you have a negative.
