Been Recieving MMO SMS Spam

So for the past three or four days I've been recieving text message spam from Dangerous Mailer.

Idk of you guys have heard of this...operation but it's been around for years. It used to send out PP invoices so that people will just blindly pay them without thinking. It stopped doing that and moved onto sending out actual money to PP addresses. It'd pay you one cent then put a message in the box about its product.

Now it seems that it has graduated to text message spam. I've gotten 4 messages from it so far. I kept wondering how the actual fuck it got my cell phone number. I don't just randomly hand it out to people or companies, either online or offline.

The first time I just deleted it. Usually I only get one spam message from a number and that's it. I can opt out or just block the number. But there was no option to opt out or anything. I just deleted it and shrugged it off.

After the second message I got annoyed.

After the third message I started researching where and how to report text message spam.

Then I got a text from them at 4:22am this morning.

That was it for me.

I figured out how to report them as spam to my service provider. Once I did it allowed me to block the contact.

Now I'm annoyed bc I'm freaking sick and I need some sleep, and a text message from some assholes claiming I can make $1000 from promoting their product woke me up.

If I could set their building on fire, I would.

Here in my region I learned something new a couple weeks ago: all you have to do is add your number to the consumer defense agency, then all spam stops.

I kept getting 2AM automated calls offering me insurance. When you have old relatives in the hospital, a 2AM call means heartrate at 200 bps.

I don't think we have anything like that in the States. I have to research it. We have a Do Not Call Registry but wtf does that mean? I'm on their list and I still get spam phone calls telling me I won a free cruise.

Here there's this registry they created and so far it's beeing respected. They only call on the land line (yes I still have one cuz old friends use the old number) because the land line authorizes undisclosed numbers, whereas the mobile operators have banned undisclosed numbers.

I don't know why this registry is getting respected though, I assume there have been lawsuits and they've been fat settlements.

The Do Not Call registry was wonderful when it first started, but so many companies have developed workarounds to this that it's useless at this point.

Get the FTC and FCC on it.
