What are you guys using besides PBNs, 2.0s and citations?

I've recently gotten into local SEO, doing seo for a company, plus a few of my own sites I started.
The company I'm doing work for I've broughtt hem from about #120 down to #30. But what's frustrating is that all the businesses in the top 10 have such shady SEO, and I'm trying to avoid it. They have poor quality blog posts that are obviously part of crappy blog networks. I'm tempted to stoop that low but I just know as soon as I do it, I'll get penalized, and I'm trying to keep them at the top long term.

Any tips besides PBNs, 2.0s and citations?

301in to the client site? I'm doing my first 301ing on one of my own sites, and was worried about doing it on a client site and setting a red flag for google. I've started osme tiers to my existing links, but to be honest most the links so far are just basic directory links and couple related business sites.

No 301 to client site should only be done with domain directly related to the niche.

I'm saying 301 a couple of good expired domains to a couple of your web 2.0 and PBN links.

buy some serp clicks from @macdonjo3 , it will improve your CTR , and you can geotarget some countries. Clicks are outsourced to real people. They google your keyword and click on your site. I personally used it and it improved my rank. One click costs between 3 and 9 cents. People stay on site for 40 seconds, so it won't count as bounce.

That's interesting. But I'd be worried about the trail it leaves, even though it's real people.

You're paranoid about a footprint, meanwhile you're building out PBNs and other BH SEO. What's your definition of a "trail"?

A good 301 will help, just make sure you use a clean niche related domain.

Agree with this.

I'm assuming that the comp are buying pbn links so you need to replicate that - keep building decent pbn sites and then if it's still not enough power them up with high quality links on tier 2.

You wouldn't be able to tell my PBNs are PBNs. They would pass manual inspection. And it's something I created, so I know the footprint if there is one. While if I hire an outside service, I don't really know if there are any footprints or how it works. That's what I'm saying. I'm trying to be cautious as much as I can.
