How to rank for this?

So I'm making a website and want to target Google.com as the keyword gets 4,000 monthly searches.

However, from past experiences, I've noticed my sites don't rank for Google.com but only for Google.co.uk which doesn't get much searches for my niche.

How can I rank only for Google? I have a .com extension but that doesn't work for some reason as I still rank for UK and not US.

Any help appreciated

Just keep adding .com links and links from all sorts of countries in English, in your webmaster choose the proper settings and it'll come by itself. You're just not patient enough.

Used SEMRush . Ranking for both UK and US but only UK is ranking for the main keywords while USA is random little keywords that I wasn't even targeting.

2. Find sites linking to more than one competitor
3. Check your competitor’s branded home page links
4. Find your competitor’s guest posts
5. Find your competitor’s recurring backlink sources
6. Grab ALL your competitor’s backlinks
7. Finally… don’t only rely on just replicating your competitor’s links

Best practice, first add your site on webmastertools and set your target country as US. Then do a US citation for your niche, so that Google will think this domain is US based.

Change your host to USA server and come back with new results after 4 to 6 weeks in this thread. Make sure your new USA hosting server is faster than the old UK server. I bet it will get USA rankings for your site.

You can also set preferred location as USA in WMT settings as said above by Fishkin but you will get better USA ranking with the server change.

This is exactly what you need.

Yep

Seems like your many of the links are targeting UK sites, And you may link local SEO links. that may be the reason.

You might just have more competition globally than within the UK. Continue building links.

1. Host your website on USA based hosting.
2. Change your target country to USA by using Google Webmaster console.
3. Try to get some backlinks from Non-UK websites.
4. Try to get some visitors from USA. Does not have to be much but constant.
